Frihosters, take your favourite image editing program - whether that is Photoshop, Gimp or MS Paint, I don't care - and let your imagination work. It shouldn't necessarily be related to Frihost or Morpheus(*).
For your information, this is not really a contest in the sense of prizes and one winner. It's just for fun and every attempt (even ugly) is appreciated.
Every once in a while I'll try to upload all pictures to Frihost and change the urls in order to prevent expiring pictures and similar.

Since I couldn't figure out anything funny to do with this, I basicalyl went grunge crazy with Annika Von Holdt's brushes. Then added a few grayscale images on multiply, erased a bit. Colorized a bit, threw on about 5 color layers, added a lame emo poem and text brushes, a border and called it a graphic. yeah it sucks. So yeah, here we are. >.< Really, I swear, I'm usually better than this.

Total Crap? did you mean that to all of the entries? not everyone is that good, some are begginers. I know that we wall have the right to opinion. Your entry isn't all that original, the other entries have a bit more effort. Just something in that corssed my mind on it.
But, i think that for being "grunge" is the kind that a begginer would use. IMO. That whole ONLY using brushes, and not other tools. like filters can create a lot of things, if you see the entry i added, the scar, was started with white and black cloulds and added som Photoshop magic.

Yeah, it does suck as much as you say it does.... obviously it doesn't it's gorgeous, and you know it is, and it bugs me when people rant about how crappy it is when they know it's not... but yeah, that one's nice, and that last one's very cute!! lol, it made me giggle! I gave this another go, and this image was screaming to be done, but I think my efforts have sorta failed - Morpheus's head on Neo's body doesn't look too realistic, it looks too small. I thought it was worth posting anyways since I spent about a half-hour in Macromedia Flash MX (the 2002 version) cropping out the background and fitting everything together to what you see below.
I've done better (the Wayne's World one).

And all achowles has done is a bit of cropping (although it is pretty damn good cropping - very accurate, well done )... Both are good but personally I think that brilliantbeauty's work has taken more skill. And it doesn't matter if the original image is still obvious, the point here is not to make the picture as unrecognisable as possible, but to "Photoshop Morpheus".Then again, achowles got a brilliant idea and found a perfect photo. That requires some work..

I guess I was comparing two completely different styles. achowles did a great job of making his photo look like it was taken with a digital camera (note not only did he crop he also did a great job with lighting and making the colors match overall I think it was fantastic) and brilliantbeauty took the picture and made it more "artsy" for lack of a better word. As for which took more talent or effort I can't be the judge because I dont know which took more work. I as you might have noticed took more of a liking to achowles. I guess Ive always perferred a realistic portrait to abstract art. However they are both great, and I just I was being unfair comparing 2 different things.

The one you're showing us isn't the same initial image.

I guess I was comparing two completely different styles. achowles did a great job of making his photo look like it was taken with a digital camera (note not only did he crop he also did a great job with lighting and making the colors match overall I think it was fantastic) and brilliantbeauty took the picture and made it more "artsy" for lack of a better word. As for which took more talent or effort I can't be the judge because I dont know which took more work. I as you might have noticed took more of a liking to achowles. I guess Ive always perferred a realistic portrait to abstract art. However they are both great, and I just I was being unfair comparing 2 different things.

Yeah, OK I don't know much about graphic editing, as I'm more of a programmer (Hey, I used the pen tool for the first time in Flash yesterday and I've had the program for arround 2.5 years). But I thought that, although achowles had merely changed the rotation of the head after cropping it. But now I see what you mean, he's done a really good job lighting up the face and it could almost be mistaken for a picture, but there are a few thing's that make it obvious that it's been edited, like the fact that the head likes slightly (only very slightly, though) too big, and there's a black line along the top of the hand which is quite obvious (well... I noticed it imeadietly, but I try to look for faults, that's just my nature ).
On the other hand we have brilliantbeauty's work, which to me looks like it would have taken more time, I duno really.. I'm a bit of a noob when it come's down to this. OK I realise that adding the background probubly wouldn't have taken much more than 5 minutes but I would have thought changing the skin like that like that would have been quite tricky... but again... I'm a bit of a noob when it come's to this kinda thing. I can also see some things that could be improved in brilliantbeauty's work... but overall I prefer it. But that is, afterall, simply my opinion.
Onto more things:
pjdesigns, I really like your pic, nice idea it made me laugh But don't ask for your subdomain like that... it shows that you're just posting for the domain which takes something out of your posts (well it does for me anyway). If you are doing this just be quiet about it . Personally I just post because I love posting on this forum, and the hosting is an extra really... but I'm using it well

I llllllike it, coreymanshack! That's got to be one of the better pics here. thanks alot ninjakannon, the image took me around an hour to make because of the darn shockpads or whatever they were, and the background, I had to take both of those off, then get the lighting correct, change it to grayscale, and merging it corrrectly with a hand drawn picture from 'DOOM', "I hope this isn't copyright infringemnt" The last part was the easiest because all i did was add a color balance adjustment layer to make it have a red tint.

The mona lisa is so ugly, I was in Paris and saw her, behind a blue bulletproof glass. I moved around to see whether she is moving her eyes, but nothing like that. The room itsself is so ugly designed, that all visitors stands in a corner to see her. But let´s look in the sunshine, The cry has been found.

Nice tip. I've been meaning to learn photoshop for a while now, but I still haven't got around to it. Anyway, that's exactly what I'm gonna do. Open up a picture and start editing. I think I'll find effects that I like, and try and copy them; by doing this I should quickly learn the different features of the program.
Have a go yourself, shuvo, you can't exactly be waisting your time playing around with it. I agree, very smart idea, although I don't have photoshop, I have psp 9 and photo pos pro, that's exactly what I did and all of my works are really good now (excpet for that lame morpheous pic I made) can someone help me install e-fiction 1.1 on my site? I have like 5 different subsriptions ot different sites and I can't figure it out on any of them! (they're all PHP compatible too) Please make a topic about that and do not reply to this topic anymore unless you would like to contribute with a picture.

This is fantastic!Amazing post. I just love the creativity that has gone into producing so many different poses and images of Morpheus having fun. Especially the one where we see morpheus with his iPod. When I first saw the Morpheus image, I did actually think that he had earphones on but a second glance proved that he is actually wired in.
Keep it up guys, wanna see more. Once I get some free time in my busy schedule, Ill see what I can muster up for our old friend Morpheus.

I doubt it--Morpheus's name actually refers to the Greek god of sleep and dreams. It would be just a little beyond the pale for a company using a name with such mythological connotations to sue anyone else for using it too.WOW! These are so hilarious. THe toilet one. I stand by my statement, as the amount of experience I have should be proportional to my work, and that is below my regular standards. it really made my day Image editing Software goes a long way for any good web page design. I currently love using Gimp 2.13, while the feature set is not on par with Adobe Photoshop, neither is the price tag. It has a decent feature set comparable with photo shop 5.0. The biggest boom it has is that its free and works with all the OSes out and it still continualy supported. Thats not to say that if I had the cash I would get Photoshop. I love Gimp as very powerful graphics tool. You getting a massive bang for the buck.

Will provide sth better wow there are some really nice ones and some crappy ones; here you find good examples to illustrate why some people should not even have pirate versions of photoshop... the tracing of some of the images could have been done better with a blunt pair of scissors,
but there are some really good ones like the wall with the peeling paint, chapeau

Get THE GIMP, its free (Open source) and woks with windows, some call it the free version of photoshop.I just thought I should give it a try.

i used psp9 and a photo from the series Prison Break.I am truly amazed at how talented some of you are. Really nice work and some funny stuff too. I love the soccer picture, makes me laugh my balls off. Anyway here is my best work in photoshop

lol, sounds like you have lots of stuff on ur harddrive, but anyway... try saving it as a .jpg and add lots of compression to it, so much as to if you give it anymore compression the picture will start to look bad/blurry. Then you should beable to save it.

I've wanted to create a new img.
Just I've been doing diff things.
After I format my hdd and get everything in order, I'll get on it.
As it was mentioned, creativity is running low.
It'd be nice to change the image.

There were many Photoshop him or her contests in the contest forum...Some of those pictures are pretty good!
I like this topic but I really think that there should be a follow-up to this one. I guess there must be threads like this in the Contests section but they don't ever wind up being as big as this one...
Anyways, it's fun to see all the different ideas and stuff that people can think off.

Since I couldn't figure out anything funny to do with this, I basicalyl went grunge crazy with Annika Von Holdt's brushes. Then added a few grayscale images on multiply, erased a bit. Colorized a bit, threw on about 5 color layers, added a lame emo poem and text brushes, a border and called it a graphic. yeah it sucks. So yeah, here we are. >.< Really, I swear, I'm usually better than this.
