Frihosters, take your favourite image editing program - whether that is Photoshop, Gimp or MS Paint, I don't care - and let your imagination work. It shouldn't necessarily be related to Frihost or Morpheus(*).
For your information, this is not really a contest in the sense of prizes and one winner. It's just for fun and every attempt (even ugly) is appreciated.
Every once in a while I'll try to upload all pictures to Frihost and change the urls in order to prevent expiring pictures and similar.

Since I couldn't figure out anything funny to do with this, I basicalyl went grunge crazy with Annika Von Holdt's brushes. Then added a few grayscale images on multiply, erased a bit. Colorized a bit, threw on about 5 color layers, added a lame emo poem and text brushes, a border and called it a graphic. yeah it sucks. So yeah, here we are. >.< Really, I swear, I'm usually better than this.

Total Crap? did you mean that to all of the entries? not everyone is that good, some are begginers. I know that we wall have the right to opinion. Your entry isn't all that original, the other entries have a bit more effort. Just something in that corssed my mind on it.
But, i think that for being "grunge" is the kind that a begginer would use. IMO. That whole ONLY using brushes, and not other tools. like filters can create a lot of things, if you see the entry i added, the scar, was started with white and black cloulds and added som Photoshop magic.

Yeah, it does suck as much as you say it does.... obviously it doesn't it's gorgeous, and you know it is, and it bugs me when people rant about how crappy it is when they know it's not... but yeah, that one's nice, and that last one's very cute!! lol, it made me giggle! I gave this another go, and this image was screaming to be done, but I think my efforts have sorta failed - Morpheus's head on Neo's body doesn't look too realistic, it looks too small. I thought it was worth posting anyways since I spent about a half-hour in Macromedia Flash MX (the 2002 version) cropping out the background and fitting everything together to what you see below.
I've done better (the Wayne's World one).

And all achowles has done is a bit of cropping (although it is pretty damn good cropping - very accurate, well done )... Both are good but personally I think that brilliantbeauty's work has taken more skill. And it doesn't matter if the original image is still obvious, the point here is not to make the picture as unrecognisable as possible, but to "Photoshop Morpheus".Then again, achowles got a brilliant idea and found a perfect photo. I guess I was comparing two completely different styles. achowles did a great job of making his photo look like it was taken with a digital camera (note not only did he crop he also did a great job with lighting and making the colors match overall I think it was fantastic) and brilliantbeauty took the picture and made it more "artsy" for lack of a better word. As for which took more talent or effort I can't be the judge because I dont know which took more work. I as you might have noticed took more of a liking to achowles. I guess Ive always perferred a realistic portrait to abstract art. However they are both great, and I just I was being unfair comparing 2 different things.

The one you're showing us isn't the same initial image.

I guess I was comparing two completely different styles. achowles did a great job of making his photo look like it was taken with a digital camera (note not only did he crop he also did a great job with lighting and making the colors match overall I think it was fantastic) and brilliantbeauty took the picture and made it more "artsy" for lack of a better word. As for which took more talent or effort I can't be the judge because I dont know which took more work. I as you might have noticed took more of a liking to achowles. I guess Ive always perferred a realistic portrait to abstract art. However they are both great, and I just I was being unfair comparing 2 different things.

Yeah, OK I don't know much about graphic editing, as I'm more of a programmer (Hey, I used the pen tool for the first time in Flash yesterday and I've had the program for arround 2.5 years). But I thought that, although achowles had merely changed the rotation of the head after cropping it. But now I see what you mean, he's done a really good job lighting up the face and it could almost be mistaken for a picture, but there are a few thing's that make it obvious that it's been edited, like the fact that the head likes slightly (only very slightly, though) too big, and there's a black line along the top of the hand which is quite obvious (well... I noticed it imeadietly, but I try to look for faults, that's just my nature ).
On the other hand we have brilliantbeauty's work, which to me looks like it would have taken more time, I duno really.. I'm a bit of a noob when it come's down to this. OK I realise that adding the background probubly wouldn't have taken much more than 5 minutes but I would have thought changing the skin like that like that would have been quite tricky... but again... I'm a bit of a noob when it come's to this kinda thing. I can also see some things that could be improved in brilliantbeauty's work... but overall I prefer it. But that is, afterall, simply my opinion.
Onto more things:
pjdesigns, I really like your pic, nice idea it made me laugh But don't ask for your subdomain like that... it shows that you're just posting for the domain which takes something out of your posts (well it does for me anyway). If you are doing this just be quiet about it . Personally I just post because I love posting on this forum, and the hosting is an extra really... but I'm using it well

Yeah, ideas are starting to run thin now. I think there should be a new thread with another idea... maybe I should start one ... although I'm not sure what picture I'd use.

It can also be a frase or a song or an idea to be expressed in photomanipulation.

I llllllike it, coreymanshack! That's got to be one of the better pics here. thanks alot ninjakannon, the image took me around an hour to make because of the darn shockpads or whatever they were, and the background, I had to take both of those off, then get the lighting correct, change it to grayscale, and merging it corrrectly with a hand drawn picture from 'DOOM', "I hope this isn't copyright infringemnt" The last part was the easiest because all i did was add a color balance adjustment layer to make it have a red tint.

Ahh, this game thinggy has finally given some people the happy feeling inside they deserve. Such as you coreymanshack On the other hand, some people just haven't been noticed at all... yea... although i like most all of the artwork in this post.... there were only about 3-4 i didn't like..
if someone's got an idea but dont have the time/skill to do it. Post it here, Im running out of ideas. I did a king kong one a page back or so, which was a really neat idea from someone else.
