I had an old pc lying around the house collecting dust so I decided to try turning it into a NAS (Network Attached Storage). I went with FreeNAS a linux based nas server. I gotta say, I'm very impressed with FreeNAS. it was very simple to set up, and configuration was straight forward.
If you have an old pc collecting dust try turning it into a NAS. Everyone can use more easily accessible storage
.
Adding additional drives and even adding usb drives is simple through the web interface. Try it out.

No, it's a Linux distribution. I've been wanting to try it for some time now, but never got the time yet. Does it have any extra options like print server?
