Buy Extra Subdomains
Is it possible that we are able to buy extra *.frih.net domains and have them all point to the one site each month. You could charge 50 $FRIH a month and could buy as many as you need
I like i like a lot. This would be a good feature. Maybe for like 300 a month maybe. Otherwise i could have like 10 sub domains.
I also think is a good idea. I, for one, could use having an extra subdomain (for my fansite, rather than just hosting it on my website) and would probably be willing to post more and pay frih$ to get it.
glad you like the idea
Horrible to manage though checking who has permission to have more domains and who hasn't. Would it not also cause a little bickering over who has the right over certain domains?
I will admit it will be a little difficult to setup at first but once its up and running a simple PHP script could automatically subtract the money.
Kinda like a directory listing in a way

You sure? I get a DA Panel in my Server and I can set how many sub domains everyone gets.
I like the idea, but it should cost points, not frih$.
Besides, you can always just make subdomains of your subdomain for free.

no but say if I had a domain change, I could buy my old one and have it point to my new site
Why not just use Free DNS services (example: http://uni.cc)?

You misunderstand what I'm saying. I'm assuming you are doing it manually setting who can have so many domains, I was saying that it would be very to have it so that by paying on the forum you were allowed extra frih domains on Direct Admin. This whole suggestion also adds to the amount of subdomain changes though and some people would want to cancel them and things can get very tricky.
Yes it is just one button. Anyhow can I sell subdomains of my old sites domain ?
It's an OK idea, though it would be hard to manage.
That's probably a better idea. I sorta have multiple sites in my account, I just use a domain redirect. (eg. .tk or .co.nr)
So, rather than having more .frih.net subdomains, you could just get a domain redirect.

Yeah, I really like the idea.
Nice one, Garionw.

I, for one think that is a great idea and support it.
But don't you already get subdomains for your subdomains.

Yes, But I think that they look a bit tacky when you could buy a .frih.net one which looks a lot better than one like that
garionw, http://freedns.afraid.org/ gives away free subdomains with full dns controll. I only tested it myself quite some time ago and it worked. I don't know how reliable it is, but I doubt there are many problems.
One of the main reasons why we only allow 1 subdomain is convenience/administration. With all these users, it is not easy to handle those kind of things. I also want to keep the "interesting" subdomains available as much as possible, in order for almost everyone to get their desired subdomain.

The problem with http://freedns.afraid.org is it is sometimes hard to get it like it took me some time. Anyhow that does work take a look at www.frihost.was.not.hacked.in
I like the idea and all but i understand why you wouldn't
I'd rather you get more users accounts done then do that for use users that already have accounts.
I'm also agree with this idea but sorry for late reply.
I think this would be an awesome idea. Although they might now want us using our sites for evrything under the sun
It's a good idea.
But what's the use of having multiple subdomain pointing at one place?
