There are lots and lots of books on javascript.But I suggest you start learning by trying out things. Try Google and you will find lots of stuff on it and choose one that teaches you by example.

I don't remember seeing it but check out to find if JavaScript Complete Reference is available. Question

Javscript Bible is one good book. I fu want just tutorial search the net. all is there. if u are a complete newbie then start with 'Beginning Javascript and then go for 'Professional Javacript'. Both titles are from Wrox.
