Just installed Apache

Found it very useful. Easy to install and it supports both PHP and MySQL. You can use it to run php files on a local host when your not connected to the internet.

There is one that supports PHP 5 and the other that is for PHP 4

Jeah. XAMPP is easier to install and control than Apache.
Still you've got to keep in mind. If you're using Windows, be sure all filenames are exact the same, because unixservers (such as frihhost) are casesensitive. On Windows you can easily create new files. On unix the folder must have the right to write files and to execute scripts.

So if your site runs perfectly on your pc but on the web, check out the things mentioned above.

yah the only downfall with frihost is i often have to CHMOD the files to 777

I think for a phpscript that writes and edites files chmod 646 enough.
