We have a 2litre white Opal Vectra, it's over ten years old as we don't have a lot of money to spend on our car. We have owned the car for the last two years and it has been running fine, until the yearly road safety check and it failed on the emmissions. We found it very difficult as to the cause of this as we are English and live in Spain and we can only speak a bit of Spanish. First we took it to the only English speaking garage that had an emmission tester and they said that the emmissions were fine so we took it back for it's test, and it failed again. We went back to the garage and they put in some stuff when the gas was low, they tested it again on their machine and said it was fine and to take it back to the testing center straight away to have it's test, but it failed. After weeks of going back and forth between the garage it finally went in for investigations. It was the piston rings that had gone, so the garage said that they would put in another engine. That was nearly eight weeks ago. Every time we ring up to see if it's ready something else seems to have gone wrong. Up to now it has had another engine a clutch and now a new water pump. We were told to ring up yesterday as it should be ready, but no we have got to ring again today. Please all keep your fingers crossed that it is ready. Living in Spain without a car is a nightmare, there is no public transport, so we have had to rely on friends to let us use their cars so we can get our weekly shopping. We are feeling like prisoners in our village.

Would you like to give me the money to buy a new car. It's easy to say buy a new car when you have the money to do it. And anyway before the vehicle check the car was running like a dream and we hadn't had a days trouble with it. Get real
