I finally decided to share this tip with everyone at frihost. It's well known in other forums, but I haven't seen anyone use it on Frihost.
Need I say more? Images next to ads will increase your CTR by alot. Just make sure you make a test page and send it to Google to see if it's ok. Also make sure it's a few pixels away from the ad, and that it has a border (the gray line in the picture above). It's that simple, just get a lot of traffic and you'll get rich
.
Bondings, you should give it a try as well.
ps. Don't hate on the emo ads, it's called a niche.
I am so, so out of the ad sense loop, but must, and I revive myself- MUST delve into it, yeah?
I wasn't aware that pictures were availibe in adsense, adwords, w/e these days.
Is it in a form provided by google now on their service, or must you code it yourself?
cheers
No adsense doesn't provide them, you must implement them yourself. I simply make a table with two colums, left column = images, right column = ads.
thanks for the extra tips
Has anyone tried it? And did it help?
I don't know what I would do without it.
so you basically add random peoples photos next to the ads?
Thanks a lot for your information i think it will work for me also i have placed the image add in http://www.funworld.frih.net/ please visit once and send your suggestions.

No, you add pictures that would interest people depending on your content. My site is about bands, so I added those people from bands that girls love.

That's a banner ad, not what I suggested. I don't recommend that.
I didn't know what is this exactly for .
I tried to use them but no link to be clicked

One should have visitors on his/her site to get clicks on the ads.
Hey, thanks for that tip! I'm going to try it out and then I'll revert with my feedback, lol. I have nothing against emos by the way, in case anyone wants to know.

That sounds like a good idea. But I haven't actually seen this anywhere, and I visit quite a lot of sites. Also remember that having more pictures increaces the page loading time, uses badwidth and space on the server and fills up space on the website.
Anyway, how much more would people actually click the ads? A picture can't be that much more enticing, although I'll admit that it will probably increce clicks slightly.
Interesting idea though, I havent' got Google adsence yet, but I should have it on my site in under a month. How exactly do you go about editing the adsence thinggy? I thought it was loaded from Google...

yoy don't have to edit any code. you just have a table, with one column for the pictures and one for the ad code. you just need to know some basic html, which you should if you have a site.
so by how much do you think your clicks have increased?
This is interesting. Though the i noticed that the pictures have nothing to do with the ads. Nothing to it. Thanx for the tip.
Ohh right, awesty. I'll have a play arround with it when I get Google adsence for my site in a few weeks.

I think, though, that it would be better if the pictures were related to the ads. The pictures also have to be enticing in some way, although I'm not exactly how to achieve this.
They can't be related to the ads that much, since the ads change all the time. It's almost impossible.
But if the ads are on a page with set content, you should be able to get something pretty close. But not on, for example, a forum, where the content on pages would constantly be changing.
Hi,
Thanks for your cool and nice tip. Shall u please post the actual HTML code (By replacing the Adsense ID as xxxxxxxxx). So that i can utilize it by changing the IMG and Adsense code.
Thanks a lot

really interesting, thanks
I couldn't have though about this
Good idea, I saw them on your page a while ago and I though that is fantastic! I'll try and word images into my site at some stage.
Here's a live example (site looks better with Firefox). http://theblackparade.net/ I use bidvertiser for this one though but it's the same thing.
lol, it looks funny when you have rockers next to a postcard ad.
I have done it on my site to, it really helps.

Yup, but it seems that they just look at the picture and click the ad.

I think lots of people asume that the picture has something to do with the ad, so they get more interested and are therefore more likely to click it. A crafty way of increasing your cash.
I must say, it's a good and wise idea.
But how do you keep your photos related to google's advertisements? What if they change the title rapidly?

I don't do that. I put pictures that I know people will be interested in. So what is actually relevant is the pictures, then you must hope that the ad is somewhat relative as well.
I have seen this method in most flash game sites.
Yeah there is scripts that come ready with this.
Thanks for your tip! That absolutely helps.
Warning: Do NOT use this with bidvertiser, even if you have a border. You will get banned!
What is bidvertiser? I've never heard of it and I'd like to know, as would a few other people I expect.

If i get more traffic i'll have to try it.
Thanks for the tip hobbit
I was going to quote your message there, Hobbit, but then I realised that it would have just been a link and a quote so I decided not too.
bidvertiser looks pretty good, and gives options that I think Google adsense should offer, but I would have thought that it would be slightly more complicated than Google Adsense. And the key to Google's success is its simplicity. But I've added bidvertiser's website to my favourites for future reference so thanks for that.
Good tip. Thanks very much.
Thanks for the tip I will have a try.
Warning: Do not use this with Adsense! This is now against their TOS, no exceptions!
Yahoo however 'does not encourage it', but they won't ban you automatically.
So how close are the pictures alowed to be?
And have you got a link to their TOS?
Thanks, I would have done this as I'm re-designing my site if you hadn't said.

You wanna see this post at official adsense blog http://adsense.blogspot.com/2006/12/ad-and-image-placement-policy.html
Thanks, manumiglani. That's cleared that up; I wanted to read the actual page to see the details. I hope people read this before they get accused of breaking terms of service by Google; I wouldn't have known if Hobbit hadn't posted it.
