Just checking to see if anyone else has experienced the problem I'm haveing.
When I burn a data DVD the process works fine, but when I go to put the disc back in and read it, it is as if the disk doesn't even exist. It won't read the disc.
I should take the disc to another computer and see if it works, but I don't have one handy.
So if you've had this problem and have a hint or two that would be aswome.
Hey Kung fu stu
If it's not a Re-writable dvd... I dont know what program your using, but with mine i have to 'Finalise' the disc after it has been burnt else sometime depending on what on it, It doesnt work.
Maybe thats the problem?

You're right, you need to test the disk on another pc to see if it's the disk or the drive.
A couple of other pieces of advice are to stay away from cheap dvds! I once got about 20 coasters out of a 50 pack of Vakoss dvds.
Since then I switched to nothing but Kodak and Verbatim and havent had a coaster since.
Also make sure to check for firmware updates for your dvd burner on the manufacturer's website. The firmware updates will usually add better support for different media types.
Does this happen after every burn? or is this the first one? Or does it happen some of the time?
I think that your problem is that you have not finalized the disc, at least if this is the problem it's not going to cost anything to solve.
I have just installed Roxio easy media creator, I copied a disc of all my backup programs, but when I put the disc back into the drive it said there was a problem, so now I have got to go through the scan disc to see if will help. I used to use Nero INCD not sure if I should have stayed with that program. What do you think.
Finalising a disc is only important for audio or video disks. It makes no difference for data disks.
I had this problem burning at Linux system. After buring the disk it did not read it though in win xp it did...

No.
