How do you make thumbnails of pictures? Say, you have an 800x600 pixel image and you want to place it in your site. Of course, you will use a thumbnail which is pretty tiny in size compared to the original image. Can I make thumbnails of my photo using photoshop or any external editor? I'll give out 15 frihs$ fast to anybody who can help me here. I need this urgent because I have loads of images needed to ne in thumbnails.
Note: Don't refer frontpage or javascripts. I hate those things. I code using only notepad and with clean Xhtml. So give me info which doesn't use any of these particular scripts. Thanks in advance.

Hey, I dont know what version of photoshop you have got, But Photoshop 9.0 CS2 Has a script you might be able to use.
File > Scripts > Image Processor
You can Resize, and set thier quality.. and you can do many images at once, a whole folder.
But... They are just .jpeg.
I hope this will do for you.

Maybe you can try to generate thumbnails using PHP instead of pregenerating em. This way you if you change your mind about the thumbnail size you dont need to generate xyz thumbnail images again.

With PS CS2.. Yes I have that. I tried your advise hammy but it gives me an error message when I try to do that. Am I missing something?
Sorry i dont know, I'd never tried it before. I've jst done it now tho and it works fine for me.
Set the Folder/Files to be modified
Set the destination folder
Set the Quality (5)
Set the Pixel Size
Step 4 optional.
And click 'Run' and it works fine.
If it works or not, I'll give you 15 frihs$. Let me just try it tomorrow and i'll give you the frihs and thanks.
Open The Image in Photo Shop
Go to Image size
Make it small may be for a thumbnail, 150 X 200.
Then, Save it.
It is as simple as that.
I also did it for my sports fansite.
I can do that. I know how to use photoshop. The problem is I have close to 300 pictures and I have to make thumbnails of each of them. Batch resize should be the answer. However, the script that Hammy told me can't initialize because it gives me errors.
