Heh, I remember signing up for the free USB drive from Microsoft quite awhile ago, and I've not seen any word from them about getting it from my order. The offer was free, and they didn't comply with my registration for it. I have most of those freebie software programs from them anyways, they're not bad.

I signed up for the same thing and never got it too. I did get an email from them saying that they had ran out of them because too many people were signing up for them. The email had a link to the data that would be on the usb. I just wanted the usb but never got it Sad

One thing that i did get from microsft that i quite like is the whole visual studio pack. Including visual basic.net, visual c++ and java and much more. I signed up for their training and the offer was if you finish the training you get them. I think i had to attend three webcasts but it was all worth it. Very Happy

Most of the time I've found a GNU or shareware alternative to the free stuff that microsoft puts out and 19 times out of 20 it was better than the microsoft freebie, plus you can talk to the creator and easily change it yourself.

Maybe I'm just an annoying free software advocate, but it really is true. For little utilities and things, GNU is better.

The link works fine with my version of Firefox. I have version 1.5.0.5 installed. No issues at all that I can see.

Too bad so many require you loading "genuine advatage". I just don't feel comfy with that software on my system...
