Looking For Mods For My Site! 50 FRIH$ Frihost Mods Wanted!

Hello you probably know who I am. As I have done prolonging advertisements to my latest site Fantasy PC. I have gotten many members from here Frihost it self, as well as , Webhosttalk.com, and forums.thatcomputerguy.us.

Recently since my users have been active on the forums, I am in need of a very good Moderator. Who is willing to get on everyday at Fantasy PC for about 1-3 hours a day. He is willing to help others, memorize my rules, and enforce them.

I am willing to pay 50 Frih$ a month for that Mod. If he or she thinks that he doesnt want the Frih$ after a few months and just wants to be a mod of Fantasy PC, I highly encourage it.

What experience and skills you have had in the past(At least 3 reasons)?

1. Building Web sites, because of Ratman's help Laughing

2. Understanding HTML Code because of Ratman's help
3. Maintaing forums, because I had to make my forum look nice, and tought me alot about maintaing forums.

Hypothetical Questions:

1. There is a member who just joined 5 minutes ago. He has already broken four rules. What do you do(At least 3-4 sentences)? Really all depends on what rules he broke. But if it was just four small rules, I would give him a warning and keep a close eye on him, and let you know about it. As son as he broke one more rule, Suspension!

2. Now there is a member who has just broken a major rule, such as a racial comment or spamming. What do you do(At least 3-4 sentences)? Suspension for atleast 50 days or more. Then let you know about what has hapend, and what I have done about it. Then either lock his post or delete it depending on if it was a racial comment or just spam.

3. You see another moderator on, and he/she is abusing their moderation powers. What do you do? Temporarly disable his/her powers. Then see what the problem is. Then inform you about what hapend and what he/she told me. And sence it is your site, it is up to you from there.

4. Your most best friend ever is online, and he/she breaks a few rules. Would you warn them? Warn them with a suspension.

5. A member has posted a virus on the forums. What do you do? Bann the member. Delete it as soon as possible. Inform you about it.

6. A member came only to cause trouble on the forums(trolling). What do you do? Suspension for 100 days. Inform you about it. When the suspension is uo and he contnues, a permeant bann!

1. You must read all rules, know them basically by heart.
2. Once you know the rules, follow them and enforce them.
3. If you are caught breaking the rules, your moderation will be disbanded.
4. Remember to look at users avatars, and see if they are breaking the rules.

Why do think you may not be chosen? Umm.. I wouldnt know really. Maybe because your looking for a FriHost mod. But to my knowledge, there are 2 slots left. So there's still space for them :p.

This could be the question to let me down, because i dont have any visable evidence anymore

1. Few years back i moderated a number of large forums, and then i got into programming. But iverecently decided that moderating forums is for me.
2. http://www.69ers.co.uk/ - This used to be in the top 5 largest clans in the UK. With over 30 members and 14 servers (8 of which were mine). and there forum was very busy. But the site isnt working anymore, unless they have moved it. I know that they are still active in mIRC though.
3. Ive made many little sites in the past for my friends. I forum it really fun. and i like programming. I just dont have the ime for full sites anymore. I love helping people on the forums tho.

I would suspend his account for 1 week and PM him the reason why complete wiv a list of all the rules.

Depending on the member's past, i'd delete his post(s) and give him a strict warning.

I am on at LEAST 5 hours a day, and I love to chat while I wait for my downloads to finish, so i chat often ( I like to download stuff). I am also very rule-following, I hardly ever break rules, I live by rules. I also would love to help you and your site, as I know how hard it is to get a site up and running (of which I am still in the procces ,fo Wink

). also, I will try very hard, as I need more experience with this before I do it for my own site.

I would give him a warning (with big, red text) if he kept it up, I would ban him for a day. then, if after that ban, he still did it, a week, etc, until he gets to month ban, after that, permenant suspension

well, of course, I would ban him for at least 2 weeks, as I am very anti-racist. I would delete the post he made, and I would keep an eye on him from then on.

I am online a large amount of the time, just generally surfing the internet and that sort of thing. I consider my posts to be mature, reasonable and comprehendable (not l33t and very few/no spelling errors). I also have a lot of time, so I would easily be able to devote 1 to 3 hours to your forum. I consider myself to be reasonable and to try to make fair judgement of everyone; although I am more than willing to accept any decisions you make as the final decision.

I would say general, although I do have a fair knowledge of programming so I would be happy to moderate in that category too.

If they are minor rules, I would tend to send them a warning in the form of a PM, linking to the rules page and showing them which rules they had broken. I would encourage them to make more of an effort to follow the rules in their posts. If they were major rules that they broke, I would give them a much sterner warning, and tell them that their behaviour is disrupting the forum environment and that they will be suspended or banned if the behaviour continues. If it does continue after that, I would inform the forum admin of what has happened and give the offender a week's suspension.

Well, the same applies here as if major rules were broken in question 1. A stern warning, then a week's ban. If it continues after that, I would give them a permanent ban. The forum admin will be informed of all actions taken.

If I had the power to remove their moderation, I would do so, tell you what happened, and tell them what they did wrong. If not, I would tell you what happened and warn them that they should not be doing what they are doing.

I would. I would have a conversation with them face-to-face and tell them what they are doing wrong. I would probably hesitate to ban them, but if they are just being a jerk for the sake of it, they would not get away with it.

Delete the post and instantly ban the member. There is no warning these people, so one has to come down hard and fast.

Firstly I would see whether they are doing it diliberately, through a PM conversation. If they were, then they will be banned and you will be informed. If they didn't understand the rules, I might be more leniant and reduce it to a suspension or a severe warning.

You say you want a FriHost mod on your site. The trouble is, that the FriHost moderators are far too busy here. They are the ones who have to handle people's account requests. You probably won't succeed in getting them to join your forum. No-one has unlimited spare time, you know.

I'm not applying for a position but am wondering one thing. Everyone of these people have said that if a user posted a file which was infected they would ban them instantly.

What if the user didn't know that the file was infected? Do you not give them a second chance?

Not tryin to put you down, but most mods at FriH have too much to worry about already. Matt has SiriusBlacks (which takes up a lot of time, believe me) and his own forum, plus FriHost. You might want to settle for just the best regular members.

Delete the posts by this certain member if he/she has posted something that is innapropriate to under 18's. I will then Pm the user with a copied text of what they did, and tell them what rules they broke. They will then be given a warning, and that next time we will take action. I would also post a link to the forum's rule page, so they are notified of the rules that stand on the forum.

Well, I would copy, and delete the comments that the user made. I would PM them the copied text of what they did, notify them that they broke many rules. I would give them a two day suspension, and will leave a note on their profile or in a topic that only staff can see), that there needs to be somebody watching this person's posts. Would also give them a link to the forum rules.

If I am a basic moderator, I cannot do anything to stop him/her from abusing. The most I can do is make contact with anybody who has access to the adminCP which will remove that person's moderating privelages. I would also PM the moderator abusing to tell him/her to stop what he/she is doing.

Friend or no friend, they bloddy well broke a rule. I would give them a warning, not a suspension, as just a few rules isn't that bad - depending on the curcumstances.

Well, the only way for you to find out there is a virus is to get it yourself, so it would be pretty idiotic to log into the forums, as your computer could have a keylogger, which could put the WHOLE FORUM at risk.

Well, depending on the crap that they give to you, I would just warn them. If they continue to spam and break rules, I will suspend them for 3-4 days. The only situation where they should be banned, is when they have used up the three strikes... strike one, two, three, your out.

I don't expect to be paid, but if one day you do wish for extra help from me, I will be able to. Just don't expect me to be on for 1-3 hours, as I do have a life.
