When i connect my existing workgroup system to domain, there is a problem with connectiion plz help me
i have windows 2000 Advanced Server...
The same system is configued for DNS...
i also made settings in client DNS IP as the server ip...
Still i have the same problem Cannot connect to the server..
go to server DNS and add workstation name and ip address
then go to workstation and connect the domain

Has this setup ever worked like you wanted before now?
Did it stop working after you changed or added something?
Are you connecting over the internet or a LAN?
Could your ISP have changed your IP on you?
ok i solved my problem, i am using wireless LAN,
i have another doubt, if we use windows xp with sp2 firewall enabled, is it possible to connect with the domain...
^You should be able to. If you have problems with it:
1: Shut the firewall off (just for testing) and try again. If it works then, that means the firewall is the problem.
2: If the firewall is a problem, you'll just have to open the right port on it. No, I don't know which one.

It's LDAP port .. TCP port 389 ... make sure it's not blocked in windows firewall ..
