After seeing PES 6 (AKA Winning Eleven Pro Evolution Soccer 2007) in action at E3 our World Cup fever pales into a mild, hot flush compared to our burning desire to get our hands on Konami's latest football opus. Our temperatures continue to soar as Konami this week announced football superstar Adriano will be the cover star for PES 6. He'll be joined by more soccer stars to be announced shortly.
Adriano is one of the most respected front men in the modern game, with his tremendous pace and skill making him one of football's most dangerous strikers. Born in Rio de Janeiro in 1982, Leite Ribeiro Adriano started his career for Brazilian league club Flamengo, before signing for Inter Milan a year later. He made his international debut for Brazil against Colombia in 2000, and has been a permanent fixture since the 2002 World Cup.
"Adriano is rightly regarded as a player with skill, pace and passion - all key elements to success in Pro Evolution Soccer 6," commented Martin Schneider, Konami's European Marketing Director.
The game will be released autumn 2006 on both PlayStation 2 and PSP (PlayStation Portable) and we'll bring you more news from the terraces as it arrives. If you'd like to know more about PSP, head over to our sister site yourpsp.com for more info than you can shake a (Memory) stick at.
