Is Skype embedded in some other software? Since I reformatted my HD last week and reloaded all my software, I am now noticing a My Skype Pictures folder within my My Documents folder. I don't believe I have installed skype. How did this appear?

no Skype is not embedded in any other software. When you install skype it makes My skype Pictures folder in the Mydocuments folder. You must have backed up your copy of My Documents . So the My Skype Pictures folder also came back when you restored My documents folder
I have seen that folder remain after installing and then uninstalling Skype, as it is not removed when the software is taken off a computer. With that said, I haven't seen that folder created by any other program other than Skype.
