Hi,

I have some problems using python.
What I want is to install the wiki called moinmoin.

I founded some nice instructions using only ftp here:

The problem is that i can't pass the first step: "Explore the webserver configuration"
I upload a python test file, but I get an "500 Internal Server Error"...

Any ideas?
I also read 2 topics with similar problems, but they didn't solve mine.
Maybe because I am on server 2...

Can anybody help me?

Did you chmod all your py files to be executable?

A 500 error is usually due to the configuration. Check the file/directory permission and all .htaccess files.

I just learned the importance of permissions.
I will recommend reading the website here: http://www.phpjunkyard.com/ftp-chmod-tutorial.php
It explains with screenshots about changing file permissions using FileZilla.

An abstract:
"Once all files are uploaded it is time to set correct file permissions, in other words to CHMOD files ("test.py" for example). The readme instructions could say this file should be CHMOD-ed to 666. To do that just right-click on the "test.py" file (the one on the server, not your computer!) and select "File Attributes" from the menu. In the "Numeric value" filed type 666 and click "OK". That's it! Wasn't that hard, right?"

I will continue trying to finish the install procedure. I will try to post what I learned to help newbies like me.
