The Biology of Transcendence

One of my friends suggested reading this book after he finished reading it for some school asignment or something.

It truely was worth my time in that it brought a lot of things to the front of my mind that I would not have normally thought about in any compacity.

I have always had a fasination with the power of the mind and how people can train themselves to endure massive amounts of pain and perform great feats of strength.

What this book did was synthesize many ideas about the evolution of the mind over the course of thousands of years and make predictions as to how the human mind will evolve in the future. There were also allusions to the role of religion and philosophy in relation to the mind.

I would suggest this book to anyone even remotely interested in the subject.
