Hey guys! I just want to know who's the best basketball player for you. This is not just limited to NBA stars. You can also include the local basketball players in your country.

For me, the best all around player in the NBA was Grant Hill. Just think about a triple double threat in his prime. He was considered as the best small forward of all time. (before he got injured).
The best defensive player in the NBA (who else?) Ben Wallace. for a 6'9", I think he's got the intimidating factor of a 7'0" palyer. hehe. I just wish to see Grant Hill teamed up with Ben Wallace in a team. Seiing them play in their prime.
The best local player here in the Philippines for me, was the 4 time MVP Alvin Patrimonio. Nick named as The Captian, he made many record in the PBA. One of those is the most MVP (4) tied with Ramon Fernandez. Patrimonio was only 6'3" but dominated the paint for 12 years of his career. After suffering a knee injury, he decided to practice his three point shot and eventually, after 14 years in the PBA, he retired as the 2nd accurate 3-pt shooter of all time. Great work huh? He led his team, Purefoods to many championships (I think 6).

Let's see. Grant Hill, the best basketball player. Hmmm. I guess Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Kareem, Bill Russel, Walt Frasier, Isiah Thomas, and Wilt Chamberlin had pretty average careers in comparison....

I think he was referring to Grant Hill "in his prime". "before he got injured" He said nothing about comparing his entire career to the careers of all the legends you mentioned.
Grant Hill in his Detroit years averaged 21.6 points per game, 7.86 rebounds per game, and 6.25 assists per game not to mention 1.6 steals per game to go along with it. The only reason Detroit never made it far in the playoffs was that once Joe Dumars retired, there was nobody else to help Grant Hill share the load.

I would maybe agree with that but no question Michale Jordan for his ability to make eveyone around him so much better. Nobody has been able to even come close to use their talent to help others they way he did. Scottie Pippen is an average player for his enitre career with Jordan.
My second choice is Dominique Wilkins. Never got the support and was overshadowed by Michael for years
Greeting to each and everyone
GOOD DAY
for me the best basketball player in the world is
no other than MICHAEL "JUMPMAN" JORDAN.
no other than him, because of his
determination to win, courage,
hope and the passion in playing
basketball..
michael has gone thru the toughest
challenges in his life,
but he manage it,
eventhough a lot of people don't like
him.
but for sure there are many more people that
like him in return.
Because his a good man.
A very good leader.
A good friend.
A compassionate teammate.
and most of all
A LIVING LEGEND of the GAME BASKETBALL
Hello there! thanks for your comments!
Well, with respect to mike, he's my second favorite player.
1. Grant Hill
2. Michael Jordan
3. Scottie Pippen
4. Ben Wallace
5. Dennis Rodman
If I am to be a coach, and it happens that these five players are still young, They'll be my starting five. (no substitution) hehe. Just kidding.

Shaq is up there for the same reason as Michale, is ability to make others better. It is a totally different way thought. Michael helped others by leading and teaching. Shaq makes others better by attracting so much attention other players get to do more. Michael did the same but he was a little more athletic and smart where Shaq is just size.
Scottie Pippen wold not even make the 50 best of all time without Michael. He would have ben good but not that good.
Mark aka Mad Dog Madsen. If they had an award for all-time greatest hustler in NBA history or otherwise, he'd be in the top five or six hundred at least. I know he's probably not the most gifted or athletic player in the league. In fact, he might be the least talented player that's ever dawned a pro jersey, but you can't put a price on seeing a man like this on your bench. Does anyone remember that monster jam he threw down two years ago? It was great.
Pound-for-pound and at his height, Earl Boykins is the best basketball player in the world!
