What do you want to name your child?

jcvincent
What is the name that you want for your child?
-SonyGamer
If my child was a male, then I would name him, Jairo with my last name. If my child was a girl, I would name her, Stephanie with my last name.
horseatingweeds
If I were to keep to my ancestry, I would name the child after the first thing I see. My name, horseatingweeds, my brother quickdog, my sister prettybird.
S3nd K3ys
I'd name my first son Chantz Addison, and my second son Aiden James. (They're 3 and 1 now, BTW Smile )
godam64
i'm gonna name my babies with the name that would not sound bad in the future. something modern Very Happy
Josso
Well it's definatly not going to be Joss, what a stupid decision my parents made Laughing. It's got to be something that sounds vaguely good with "Weightman" after it so I'm rather limited.
Becky
Dylan!! Cool

Apparently i'm kinda obssessed with that name..... Laughing
kazikame
Umm.. something generic. Not something stupid like Apple >_>

I know someone called Simon Dent who wants to name his son Arthur. I feel sorry for his kids >_>
philsanter
Radley. That way I could call him "Rad."
Tatsumaru
Odin would be the coolest name ever, haha.

More seriously: for a boy I think 'Ryan' would be nice. For a girl 'Angela' would be, but that's my girlfriends name already so I don't know Laughing
meet in rio
I've actually made a list *blush*:

Hester
Sophie
Roberta
Ruby
Antonia
Frida
Angela
Thea
Andreia
Liberty

Theo
Jobe
Alastair
Seb (Sebastian)
Oliver
Gabriel
Leo
Francis

I also really like Cayetano/a and Paloma, but I need to marry someone with a vaguely Hispanic last name!

There's a small, crazy part of me that's dying to name a kid 'Love' or 'River', but I think the mad hippie inside will have to be content with naming animals and inanimate objects.

That is one of the coolest things I've seen.

I would name my son Gabriel, because I love that name.
Jeslyn
If it's a girl: Avia (pronounced Ah-vee-uh)

If it's a boy: Brendan
Jaime
if it a girl: Carolina or Ana or Saray or Linda
if it a man: Jaime

if i got one boy and one girl... the boy i decide to call "Steven". the girl i call "Vivian"..
hobbkins
I think Baron Bubinski would be fitting. If it was girl...uhhh, we'll I'm not going to have a girl so I don't need to consider the alternative.

If I had a boy, I would name him Andrew. Not a bad name. Smile

If I had a girl, I would name her Beatrix. It's such of a lovely and modern name. Very Happy (Heh, I've actually thought more about girls names than boys names, I also have Phoebe and Bianca in my head too for girls names).

These aren't official, but they are what I have in mind at the moment.

- Mike.
kung_fu_stu
I am the third generation Stuart and will likely pass on the name if I have a son. Other than that I"m just waiting for the day to arrive then i put some thought into it

Whichever name you choose, please don't torture the poor kid. You prolly want something somewhat common, in that people will know how to spell it, but no so common as say "John" where there are like 30 people in their class named that.

Isn't there a classic rock song named "A boy named Sue" by Johnny Cash, anyone familiar with it?
Nameless
If I had a girl, I'd probably call her Tricinta (I always liked that name, for some reason) but I'd know about a boy. NOT something random and stupid (I believe somebody mentioned 'Apple' as an example) but not something common like John or Bob either. Probably something more unusual or exotic, while still being known of...
KernEnergie
If I had a male I want to call him Raphael, I really liked this name, it sound delicate and pretty. Female names are harder to choose, I have a lot of names in my mind but I doubt I would have more than 2/3 children.
windrei
i have only thought of my future daughter, maybe Solely.

but for son, sorry, i have never thought about it...
ivanegues
I have 3 lternatives:

Nicomeres Cativa
Jacinto Chiclona
Cheito Paspuel

In neither of the 3, it doesnt matter for a boy or a girl.
jcvincent
Thanks for all these replies! hehe. By the way. It's my turn to tell you what will I name my son or daughter..

If I have a daughter, I'll name her Andreah Marie..

If I have a son, I'll name him Vincent Christopher..

Hehe. Then I'll give my daughter a nick name: IM (short for Iron Maiden)
Then my son: Wolf

Umm I've gone through a few, when I was little I wanted a whole wack of kids all with K sound names, There was:

Kelly
Kayla
Kaitlyn
Kody
Kaleb
Kyle
Kory

lol I know excessive... a name I really like now is Sienna, and I like Paris, and Lola, I don't really have any favorite male names though, I really want girls, lol...
kingy2k6
I would name my child Megan-Louise if its a girl, i know it sounds sad but i dreamt it one night and thort it was really nice.

If i have a boy, then i really have no idea, ill let the missus decide
r_y_e_20
if i have a child, i would like their name to be foreign-mixed. somewhat like with a japanese twist or israel one. my brother had a child and he name his son Kimi Lance. Thats a combo of Kimi Raikkonene and Lance Armstrong, because my brother is somewhat athletic.
Ester
My daughter has just told us that she is gone to have a baby next year. She has brought a book of names and one of the names she has picked for a girl is Lily, I think that this is a lovely name.
jipmerite
My favourite name for a girl is Sarah. Sarah was Prophet Abrahams wife and it means 'Princess'
Billwaa
'You First' will be a funny name, because if a person ask him what's his name, he will answer 'Your First'.

However, probably not too good for a real name. Maybe Rachel for girl and Robert for guy.
radd
i have a dream long time ago where i have a child name taufiq. recently, there's a guy that always flirting my gf, his nm is taufiq. cisss... no way ill name my child wth that nm!
mathiaus
I have a few ideas, 3 sons
-This
-That
-Thingy

It would be a bit crel to actually call someone that though so maybe as nicknames. The other set of crazy names is;
-Snap
-Crackle
-Pop
(The little rice krispies people)

On a more serious note, if I(no me, my partner) had a boy something like Matthew Razz , Henry, Oliver, Anthony, something not so common and with some class or something to it. I don't think I call my child Bill or Bob :shudder:
For a girl things get tricky. Elizabeth, wouldn't actually mind an ancient greek name, something like Hera or Aphrodite which are both different, raise a few eyebrows Smile

I thought of what Michael Jackson did with his sons "Prince Michael" and "Prince Michael II". How can you give such of a name to someone ? On top of that, leaning the child over the edge of a balcony, just cruel.

- Mike.

I did not actually see what MJ did in that Balcony Baby incident but I just feel that we have no right to judge him or comment on that. It was his baby. If he was sure he won't hurt the baby he can do whatever he wants. Who are we to condemn him!

I sometimes do things with my daughter or nephew which someone else might feel is dangerous or might hurt the baby. But I am also a grown up. I know my limits and if i am sure I won't cause any damage, a passerby on the street has no right to judge me. In the case of my nephew his parents has a right to stop me. But with my daughter I should be able to be free with her.

I am sure there must have been a big crowd gathered to see MJ and his baby. So why blame him for trying to show them what they wanted when he was sure of what he was doing.

Such opinions are just pathetic and hypocritic.
izcool
Michael Jackson, in almost everyone's eyes, is a little out in Left Field compared to a lot of other people in this world.

I do have to stand up for myself and state that everyone here has their right to voice their opinions. It's quite strange that he decided to name his kids those names, and I think that him hanging one of his kids over a balcony was an attempt of killing it. I don't think it was on accident.

I'm going to withdraw myself from watching this thread because I don't want to get into a big argument over this, and this is all that I'm going to say.

- Mike.
cybernie
haven't decided yet on the name i would to our baby... we don't a baby yet... maybe i'll ask my wife first on what her suggestions are... after that, we'll decide...
chloekaris
If i have a girl i'd call her Elle and if it was a boy i'd call him sam or an unusual name:)
Ratman2050

I would name them something not too odd. I dont think it´s very nice of parents to make up some crazy name for their kid just to be original. The parents might think it´s fun, but it increases the risk the kid will have a hard time in school and so on.

Odin would be the coolest name ever, haha.

More seriously: for a boy I think 'Ryan' would be nice. For a girl 'Angela' would be, but that's my girlfriends name already so I don't know Laughing

Odin is not that common even in scandinavian countries
In Denmark (out of ca. 2.5 M men)

There is 57 with name Odin

Thor is more common with aproxemately 2500

Frej with 188 and Balder with around 80 are more common of the norse goods.

But the topscorer of the goods is Freja (the godess of love) with 5017 and she's growing quite a lot these years.

My children should be named Irene after my grandmother or Svend after my grandfather.

I'm a Christian. People surround me usually named their children as, Samuel, David, Daniel....Personally, I would never use those name and hope that "my son/ daughter would like them".....It was. I dunno how to say..but unacceptable for me.

If it was a son, I would call him Alpha.
It it was a daughter, she would be Omega. Wink

Actually, Bible have such names but people only directly use those names...
