What is your favourite tale of Animal Heroism?
A couple of weeks ago, I let the hamster out for a night-time run in the conservatory. As hamsters have a tendency of doing; it escaped out of the back door. Five hours later at two in the morning, after numerous fingertip searches of the garden, we ascertained that it had gone.
The next morning, the neighbour arrived at our front door to inform us that their dog had eaten it. We were pretty upset as you can imagine. The neighbour felt guilty and bought us another hamster and it settled in ok.
Days, then Weeks Pass.
One evening, we are sitting in the adjoining room to the conservatory with all the doors open, watching TV. Something scuttles across the floor. We trap it and, lo and behold, it's our hamster!
Now we have two hamsters. Maybe we should get a snake or something...
