Why does the most of people think that classic music is a finer art? Do you think so?
Classic Music is better and finer art?
Well in my opinion, i prefer singing as well. But classical music is valuable, because there are no humans singing, so the listener does not have to judge the music subconciously, also the music by itself is not a sound we hear everyday, and with its nice effect, if it is played properly it calms the listener.
Well, first you should define what do you consider as classical music. Some people claim that classical music includes every music that was not kind of pop or folk, written within European culture in any historical epoque. In that sense classical music contains symphonies, but also choral, the twentieth century musical experiments, and even some electronical and film music. This kinds of music are of course more sophisticated than pop or rock, causing more subtle emotions while listening, but that doesn't necesairly mean that they are finer or better. [especially when talking about modern composers like Penderecki whose works are IMHO unlistenable
]. What kind of music suits you more depends not only on your taste, but also on your mood, on your expectations and feelings in the moment of listening.
The other definition of classical music says that it is the music written in the European culture in the age of classicism - around the XVIII century, most likely bright and instrumental. [Like Mozart, Haydn, Vivaldi or very early Beethoven]. In that meaning of 'classical' I cannot find any single reason why should it be considered as finer than the rest. Though my music school teachers would probably come up with some

The classical music is realy like fine art to me because is valuable and exceeds harmony.
I enjoy classical music, but I wouldn't say it's necessarily better than other forms of music. Better than some, yes, but not all.
If I listen to classical music, it's usually Mozart, Beethoven, or something from that general time period. Sometimes I'm in the mood for it (like when I'm studying, reading, relaxing, etc), but sometimes I'm just not (like driving in the car). I'm also kind of partial to classical music because I play the piano. Although some modern music (like Billy Joel or Elton John) translates well into a single piano voice, classical pieces are generally much more enjoyable to play.
But, I enjoy classic rock as much if not more than classical music. I think there is something to be said about classical music inspiring more emotion than modern pop/rock, but I think it also applies to classic rock, jazz, and some other musical forms. The difference is not between 'classical' and 'pop'. It's between real music and the crap that people turn out just to make a buck. Just like fiction.

music is highly subjective--- there is no universal "good" music.
From personal experience, I would say that Classical music is the best form of music.
the_mariska's point is very important. "Classical" music needs to be defined before you can begin to answer the question. But then I get hung up on "better". It's like asking which is better, chunky or creamy peanut butter. Very subjective.
If you take the_mariska's second definition, that music written in europe in the fairly distant past, you have to at least consider that it has stood an incredible test of time. Will people still be studying <insert your favorite composer here> 300 years from now? Or is he/her/them only writing to the current generation? I think you can't tell about current music, but if a piece of music can exist for hundreds of years and still move people, well, maybe there is something special there.
But, personally, with the exception of for J. S. Bach, "Classical" music doesn't move me much.

People these days have the false belief that everything is subjective: that everyone can have thier own opinions, and that's alright. But that's not true. There is good. There is bad. Shakespeare is good. Danielle Steel is trashy (if you enjoy it, there's nothing wrong with it, of course, but it's not Shakespeare). Brittany Spears is bad, Mozart is good. Period. No debate. No "opinions," only facts. There is right, there is wrong. No middle-ground.

Classical music, generaly speaking, is by far superiour to most of the today's "modern" music. I emphasize MOST here. That is so because classical music wasn't created (for the most part) for masses. In the past not everyone (actually only few) was in a position to listen and appreciate music. It was reserved for the elite. By elite here I mean the richer who didn't have to work (work here equals to hard labour).
Today we probably have larger quantity of "good" (profound) music than in classical times, but the percentage is by far lower. Maybe 99% of todays music is, if not garbage, than very close to that term. It seems that every single "child" want's to make music whether it has talent or not.

Well I'm sure there was plenty of crappy music made in Mozart's time.
Probably a lot of rich boys who thought that because they had money they also had talent. Just like today. But we only remember the good ones.

To define classical music is somewhat hard. Generaly speaking the term classical music covers music of maybe late 15th century to the early 20th century of the west Europe. However to this we must add USA and a few others. Mostly orchestral pieces and solos of the "old instruments" (violin, piano, ...). No rock 'n' roll, metal, rock, tribal music, film music, popular music, no jazz (maybe not even Scot Joplin).

Couse it went through the filter of time, the bad ones were already strained away.
I do listen to classical music quite a lot, my favourite is Vivaldi especially Four Seasons but Beethoven and his piano sonatas or Mozart's violin conceros aren't that bad either, and anything from Bach of course.
Interesting thing is that i wasn't much into classical music until i stumbled upon Vivaldi's music in the OLDBOY soundtrack.
Cause its old. In 200, 300 years people will thinks of modern music in the same way. Buy of course by then only the truly good music would have survived and all the crap would be forgotten so so in essence it will be more artistic.
