Because we have this teacher in Religion and he feels like that his and our faith are equal. By this, I mean, he expects us to meditate and examine what has been done in the past for the first few minutes of class. Or some of those stuff. And I find him boring.
How should I tell him?
I mean, no offense to him or to Religion, but being forced to examine everyday and being bored to death during the class is not a good thing to spend your Religion class.
Maybe you could try offering up suggestions for things you WOULD like to do in class either in addition or instead of just saying you don't like his class.
Wouldn't he take that offensive? It's like telling him what to do...?
And besides, we tried to indirectly steer away the "day examining" part and offered to volunteer to do some reflection with stories with morals, but still, no go.
what exactly is "day examining"?
Well, if he is a no go for suggestions then probably telling him you don't like his class will be fruitless as well. If I were you I would just try to stick it out try to make the most of it, .. but thats just me
You sit still and you're forced to close your eyes and feel the sensations in your body and remember what you did this morning (PS, we do this in morning so the only activities you will be remembering is waking up, taking a bath, eating, going to school and the reflection).
That sounds pretty pointless.. maybe it helps focus you for class? Anyway, You know this guy better than I do but sounds like talking to him isn't going to change anything except maybe make him mad.. so I wouldn't bother.

my advice, get used to being in boring class
I have no idea what to tell you. It does sound pretty boring.
I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a shot. But try to catch him privately and just explain your point of view to him. Maybe he won't get offended.
I hope it works.

indirectly. directly is offensive. leave him hints. or you could type the problems on a computer. print them. leave it on his desk. the danger is though apart from the fact someone else could read them, or you could get caught, he might be really offended and try and make classes own up.

suggest an alternative to examining the day, like using the time to see if erm to see if the Bible has contradictions. Just pick a random topic.
It could be worse, he could be saying long rambling prayers.
You can spend this time thinking about what you like, he's not going to know.
I personally like spending a short time meditating at the begining of the day. It helps to focus my mind.
IT sounds, to me, like he is trying to get each student to prepare their mind for the day, and in particular for his class. Some things can only be truly understood with an "empty mind" however you do that. If I were you, I would use that time to silently pray or some such. I personally need to start to meditate more as my mind is too cluttered.
Anyway, find a way to enjoy the class. otherwise you will resent the experience instead of learning from it.
Just tell him. Take a deep breath after class, go up to him and tell him. Be honest, and say what you feel. Teachers are humans too, believe it or not.
It sounds like he is trying to get you guys to do a basic awareness meditation. Perhaps you should ask him what the point of the exercise is and try to understand it. What you should maybe remember is that if you dont want to do it, you dont have to. You can sit there and think about whatever you would like to, how would he know any better. But, if the feeling grabs you, maybe you should read up on awareness meditation and its benefits. Although they become clearer with age as we start realising more and more things that are wrong with us and the world we live in, you could benefit by starting early?
Good luck.
