Anyone know any free WYSIWYG-editor?

Help would be appreciated!

(For those who doesn´t know, WYSIWYG stands for What You See Is What You Get.)

Careful getting used to using a WYSIWYG editor, editing your source or adding scripting will be a real pain. HTML isn't exactly rocket science....try good old notepad Wink

I personally use UltraEdit v12.10a for quick edits, HomeSite5+ (which is included with DreamWeaver v.8.0 Pro (much better than the MX versions) for web development (it is a WYSIWYG editor, but it allows you to write in bare source also), and for my Flash/Actionscript I use Flash v8.0 Pro.

FYI...Macromedia has been bought out by Adobe....so things may be changing in the future.

I use sitespinner by Virtual Mechanics. It is quite good, but limited in doing any custom code. For a basic design, I find it very easy to use, and there are lots of effects and tools to use as well.

There is a great freeware, or careware to be exact, out there. It's called Arachnophilia,
and can be found at www.arachnoid.com

It combines the best of two worlds, and is not really a WYSIWYG, but as mentioned
earlier that might not be the best to get used to. 'A' is lot like using notepad, but you
get a few handy shortcuts, lots of help and may take part of an excellent idea.
Check it out, it's worth it!

Nvu is great, but if you have firefox, you can get Nandu, which runs directly from your browser. Another is AceHTML Freeware

DreamWeaver is great if you want to edit a web page

You could get a trial of DreamWeaver or you can use the one that comes in the Mozilla Suite.

Trellian is excellent, but I wouldnt get used to it. You should try learning html...its reasonably easy; getting used to wysiwyg leads to poor pages which are barely customizable.
