I grew up with hockey (spent my youth in the mid-west US) and still love it to this day. There is no sport, IMHO, that equals the speed, finesse, and brutality of ice hockey. I argue with friends about this constantly, but I feel that of the major sports (baseball, american football, soccer, basketball and hockey) hockey is the one that requires the most overall skill.
u should take a look on the nhl ... this is a better league ... go habs go ! Montreal canadien !

GO HABS GO!! Hockey is not my favourite sport to play, not even top 5 but probably my favourite to watch. That and American football
Hockey is the best. I'm in Canada so I don't really know any overseas team or leagues. Any Canadian NHL team gets my backing. Especially when a long playoff run comes along. Edmonton taking it on the chin in game 7 was a tough one.
The lockout soured me on a lot of it. I'm glad it turned out the way it did. The league wouldn't have lasted if they didn't get a decent cap.

I'm a huge NHL fan, and have been ever since I was five or six. Growing up, I used to cheer for the Calgary Flames. Since then, however, my allegiance has switched to the Ottawa Senators. They haven't won a Cup in recent years, but I'm hopeful they'll do so soon!
