Port Forwarding

Gozzgull
Ports- TCP/UDP omgcats what is it? Well im here to tell you!

Now I know I'm a stikler for posting pics but I don't have meh posting yet so I will explain in detail!

Now first go to START>CONTROL PANEL>NETWORK CONNECTIONS

Now from there you can see all of the ways your computer is connected to the interweb, and a LAN if your through a network!

From the go to LOCAL AREA NETWORK>and click on the SUPPORT tab

In that tab you will see numbers, you want IP address

Mine looks like this 192.168.*.**
I left the last two section out so people cant hack me!

Now, go into internet explorer or whatever you use and copy past that number into the address bar, but replace the LAST set of mubers with 1

so you should have something like 192.168.*.1

once there you should see a login screen!

bet you didnt know you had one!

the default password is default if it isn't talk to the person who set up your network/internet

from there you should see a security section or one that just says ports

you want Pursistant port forwarding

there you will see programs that haveopened your ports to allow access to your computer!

*Why do I need to know this?*
Because! Haveyou ever tried to host a game and none of you friends could join? Well if you open the port that the game should run on then BAM you can host!

*What about running servers*
If you want to run a HTTP server such as Apache or KeyFocus then you would need to open a port to allow others to access the server!

*What about the HACKARZ*
Well, if you see a port open that you do not recognise, or looks fishy then clear out all of the information there and save the changes!

the end (took ten minutes)
