There are 2 friends one is Blind and the other is Dumb. The wife of the Blind man is having an affair with another man, The Dumb knows this, how can he convey the message to the Blind that his wife is having an affair with another man?
Damn. someone took my answer. Write to or use sign language to communicate to an intermediary who will then tell the blind man. So what is lateral thinking....make up original answers to problems?
Lateral Thinking is "thinking sideways". It's a hard thing to do, you need to look at the smaller concepts inside the matter, and see if they're the answer to the problem. Like mensa mind challenges:
"You are a bus driver. 5 people get on the bus at the depot, and you drive to the next station. 3 people get off, and 8 people get on. One person doesn't pay his fare and you report this. At the next station, 3 people get on and nobody got off. What's the name of the bus driver?"
"literal" thinking would tell you to find the name of the bus driver according to how many people are on the bus, how many got on, or how many got off. You can't figure it out. However, if you do some lateral thinking, you'll find that right at the start it says "YOU are a bus driver". The answer, quite simply, is your name. Lateral Thinking, I say, is taking the smaller concepts to fix the problem.
Put a coin in a bottle and then stop the opening with a cork. How can you get the coin out of the bottle without pulling out the cork or breaking the bottle?
