WP (blog) xmlrpc.php gives a "403 forbidden", no m

sush
Hi, I'm running Wordpress 2.0.2 in my root directory. All files and stuff are normally accessible and running fine, however I cannot post from a desktop client using /xmlrpc.php as the endpoint. It dies out with a 403 Forbidden when the permissions clearly imply that the file should be world readable.

I tried changing perms on the file as well as relocating the entire blog directory. No luck.

It works fine only when the file is renamed and accessed. Renaming it to xmlproc.php for example makes it work.

However I read on WordPress forums that renaming this file would not allow the use of trackbacks and rpc pings from other blogs. That right? Any workarounds?

Thanks in advance,
Sushant
