i am using cute ftp for uploading but i am not able to connect to the host
i am using a LAN network and Proxy Server
plz help me

First of all, you need to check all of the settings you've entered. Sometimes there are strct rules for a host adress. For example, you won't be able to connect to a host if you dont write "ftp://" in the begining. Secondary - check the firewall. I't may be blocking the software.
try using filezilla ?
it's a little and free ftp browser,
i dunno about what kind is your problem
but may be u need to check to your provider, since some of it server proxy
had a firewall to block ftp port. ftp port ussualy is 20 and 21,
smartftp is oso good, and free for personal use.

I agree 100%. I haven't had any issued with it so far!Filezilla is the best. I have tried using other FTP programs like WSFTP and others but nothing is like Filezilla. Try out all the configuration settings in it .....should solve your problem.
FireFTP a extension for FireFox does a great job and its intergrated in to one of the best browsers!

I agree that SmartFTP is one of the easiest to use out of all the others i've tried. Dreamweavers isnt too bad either, It uploads upon saving your project. That's depending on weather your useing dreamweaver or not.
Hammy.While FireFTP is extremely good you may also try GFtp which is based on GTK,there is a nice helpful community,in case u need troubleshooting
Im using CuteFTP PRO, and I never have any problems. Usually the problems with connections is you host.
Filezilla is the best. you can't upload multiple files with either smartftp or cuteftp, I can't remember which

You can use the Total Commandar for FTP.
its very good tool, but its a shareware. Which is best to move files within your web/online directory. My directory tree was wrongly configured I now need to move the files.
My favorite is WinSCP... it allows all different kinds of ftp's ... and it is free to download.
Well like most guys said FileZilla is the best. its small , free and so easy to configure.
