Yesterday I was experimenting with my computer in the Windows Desktop Properties Settings. I changed the screen resolution. Windows then asked me if I want to keep these settings (because it is suboptimal). It gives you about 15 seconds to decide. I did not decide within 15 seconds and it reset my screen resolution to 1600 x 1200 pixels. Then, I noticed my background was now a solid color instead of the .jpg file I had selected. The only times I see the old background is when I turn off my computer it flashes and when I turn on my computer it appears while the system boots. When I go to Windows Desktop Properties Desktop to reselect the chosen background it appears that this file no longer exists. How can I reset my desktop background?

Have you browsed the directory you saved it to? =P
It turns out that because it was saved to an external drive that was powered off any change to the desktop had it pointing to a file that it could not see. I thought I had a copy on my laptop as well, but it is only on my external.
