well I'm having the same problems with my ftp right now...
tried different ftp clients without improvement

tried ftp://...
ftp.gelvoc.frihost.net
gelvoc.frihost.net
216.32.68.250

username : the666bb
pasw :

sftp/ssh2

Could it be that some of us (including the person posting before me) are witnessing temporary ftp problems (too many users connected,...)

I find it strange that none of the ftp client throws a clue to the problem.

can someone help me on this one plz Wink

I just open FTP Surfer (my FTP client)
Type: ftp://gfx.frihost.net
then it automaticly tries to connect, but that won't work because it doesn't have a password, so after 5 secs it asks a password, enter pw and username..

i could login to the cpanel with my initial account information though (with username the666bb)

maybe someone from the admins could reset a password to me Wink

if I use the ftp server client it does throw me an error actually :
winsocket error 10038, socket operation on non-socket

is my pc f**ked up itself ??

in filezilla which is my main ftp client, it has the status connected but on the command connect is throws :

FzSFtp.exe was closed, terminating connection

I use FileZilla as well, and have found that it only connects if you specify 'FTP' servertype (in the 'Site Manager'). If you specify any of the other choices (FTP over TLS, FTP over SSL, SFTP over SSH2 or FTP over SSL/TLS) it won't work. When you try TLS, it will log on, but then stall when trying to retrieve the directory listing
