I've tested it now for like 1 Year and I must say... It's very nice!
You even can watch Videos on a 4G iPod!!!
And play like 200.000.000.000 different games!! (Actually it's 200)
And you can draw, make notes, watch html files, and so on...
Well just try it and tell me your opinion bout it!
the ipod works so seamless with my Mac, why should i put linux on it?
Yeah, i have ipod linux too, its pretty awesome. It's on my 5g ipod. The best part about it is the iboy, so you can play gameboy games on your ipod. I don't play the other games much, because they're too slow. I like some of the games on rockbox, which i also have.
ahh yes the wonders of iPodLinux.
why? why would anyone want iPL?
-videos (on ipods that arent supposed to)
-customizable (make it look like you want it to)
-iDoom (impress your friends by playing doom on your iPod)
-iBoy (play gameboy on your iPod)
-loads of fun simple games (things like blackjack, space invaders ect)
-cool apps (periodic table, multiconverter, calculator ect)
-the satisfaction of doing something apple didn't intend you to do!
-and Lots more!
It's like upgrading your iPod to the next step up.
i've heard great things about ipodlinux but have never used it as i do not own an ipod. which versions of the ipod does it run on?
it runs on under or 4G perfectly. I tried it on 5G's and litterally KILLED a nano, and had to restore a video. Other than that it's awesome!
Anybody tried out the program "dialer" ??
(You put the earphone to your cellphone and it dials
Almost my entire music collection is in ogg and flac format.
I know there has been a problem for ipod to play those free formats (maybe the problem is solved in newer models?). Anyhow, that's more or less the only reason why i don't own an iPod today.
So my question is: Will an iPod Linux play Ogg, flac and .ape files?
I might get it on my 5G, how does it work and does it void the warranty?
