I think XBL is a horrific waste of montly money. There are several FREE services that allow one to interact with other games via one's xbox on the internet. Why use XBL?
because i like it, my friends use it and i get content downloads... such as new halo maps without needing to buy the map pack or chip / mod my xbox.
also because when in the past ive used Xbox Connect the vast majority of people didnt seem to have headsets and there where fewer games / more lag than when i play on live... that might have changed as this was using the leaked version of halo 2 but still im quite happy with xbox live working out at an amazing

anyway if peopel wanna talk about live / alternatives maybe make a new thread the idea here was to have a thread where people could share their Xbox Live gamertags (or if you want user names on other similar services) feel freee to do so... so lets try and leave it as that?
