the web hosting sucks but you get an absolutely free domain for a year. The only catch is that you cant transfer it for 60 days.
Plus they don't charge you for domain renewal if you stay with them over a year which is pretty good. However, I wonder what the transfer cost is if you try to do it?
Also, from the FAQ:
Q: Why is Microsoft Office Live Basics free?
A: Office Live Basics is offered at no charge through an advertising-supported model. Microsoft is allowing a select number of advertisers to place small, unobtrusive ads on a handful of member pages.
thanks for your info, look good to try
i signed up before but after a long time, nothing heard from them.. I never got my free domain ><"
what do you mean you can't transfer it for 60 days?
Does anyone have some examples of sites hosted at MS Office Live?
I'd like to see what their ads look like.
If its an obnoxious google adsense type ad, that's a downer.
If it's a small icon type deal at the bottom of a page, that's not bad.
Ya I was going to use there hosting until I found Frihost but at first it looked to good to be true.
i think it's a good hosting

They don't look too shabby.
Bad thing is,
looks like you have to use a clunky mailto tag to collect email addresses.
I much prefer a formmail script.
Is it absolutely FREE because I'm gonna sign up. NO SETUP FEES OR SOMETHIN? Just sign up with no bills?
Can I sign up for a personal website instead of company website there?
Because they only mansion about company websites.
