VIA processors ? ITX-Cards

Has anyone used a EPIA card , mini-ITX ?
I am planning to build a quiet computer to use as a router and file ,printer server.
What are Your experience ?
Did You get it to boot with USB ?
What is the best way to install ( Linux distrubution )
I am planning to do a network installation and not have any CD / Floppy drive

From my experience, most ITX systems are not at all flexible and usually much more trouble than they are worth. If any sort of failure occurs on any of the components on the board, then the whole system is toast. Since there are usually only 1 PCI slot, there is very little area for updating. Save yourself tons of money and trouble and just buy a P3 system that would be more powerful and easy to use. You should be able to buy one used from somewhere or a thrift store for really cheap. That way, you also would not have to network boot. I have never had to network boot, it is ALWAYS a last resort.
