I feel Walla is much better than Gmail. Also consider writing your email in the a [at] a [dot] a format to reduce the chance spammers can have at it at your mailbox, then again gmail has some decent filters.
try go to https://www.google.com/accounts/NewAccount
you can create gmail account without invitations
That is not a gmail account, that is a google account.
For accessing stuff like adsense or analytics etc.
You dont get gmail with that
yeah sorry about that, scorpio is right. Next time I will recheck again before posting.
this is another way, but I am not sure this working

pretty contradicting?
at least you can get invitation by your self without depend invite by someone

Ok that is the positive side of things..
But still you can ask for one here at the forum or from your friend
It would be better to do that instead of all those tedious steps
I just want that frihost user would test this great feature-packed gmail... So I am here to invite for gmail...
If you have other ways to test gmail I am happy to hear that...
it is easy to get gmail now!!!
It is easy to get gmail for you guyes in US,but not for everyone in the world.

well i dont really know how to get gmail because im noob so is it any better than hotmail because i like hotmail better than anything else
I have always wanted a g-mail account. How can I get invited?
Gmail is very useful.
I use it to send myself large files when i am away from home.
I also use it as my spam folder.
I've been doing this no for about a year. NO hicups and easy breezy.

Ask someone nicely that has one or follow the instruction google has with getting one with a cell phone.
Let me know first how many people here actually have G-Mail ...
I really need one that has a high storage capacity ...
I have one
If you wants, just PM me
actually All of my friends have one
It's sure easy to use, and it have chat that integrated in it too
the bad thing is.. when your connection isn't stable, you will lose the connection and must switch it to HTML mode
that's annoying..
Moreover you can't make new folder to put your email separately, but there is a label to groups your e-mail
GMail is the best!
I hate Yahoo...
...and HOTMAIL too.

Gmail is an awesome service those of you who don't have it should definately check it out. The labeling system is the best thing about it in my opinion, I have been using gmail for over a year now and I haven't had a problem at all. If you want an invite feel free to PM me.
Gmail is the best. 2.7 Gb free storage.
If you want an invite feel free to PM me.
In case you have a domain, google will offer you email at your domain. i.e. I have a domain registered in yahoo as www.yantrapark.com. Google offered me 1000 email address (which I can choose) [at]yantrapark.com. Isn't that great.
I have gmail account and I strongly reccommend it to everyone.
I've used a lot of emails, and I say google is the best........
If you want account, please PM me......
Anybody wanting Gmail can use the tons of invite spoolers (search on google) and use them, invite spooler generate the invitations that people save
Gmail is the best mail. i using this gmail on 1 year and i happy on this service.
i love gmail. its open source. that't it. its free, secure and open!
No, because I have Frihost mail! I've said this before, but I really don't understand why nobody uses his Frihost mail account...
I find Gmail has leaped fowrd in integrating a number of features together. Such as chatting and archiving of emails and info. Its simple but effective.
Sam.
I like gmail too. Hotmail is always bad for me.

The reason for me not using the frihost email apart from setting up webmaster and postmaster addresses is that needs can change. If you were to use this address and you changed webhosts then you would lose all your email addresses. This could be a real hassle if you have many contacts who would all need to be informed about the email address change.
The web based accounts can be just as insecure as they are constantly changing services therefore what you are happy with at one time may not be what you want in a few years and again you could find yourself maintaining more and more email accounts as you jump from service to service.
After having suffered from such problems in the past I have found the best solution was to buy my own domain, which I treat as a truly personal one as it is based on my name and only costs a few pound a year. This I intend to keep indefinitely and most of my addresses that give people are based on this domain. I use the odd web based one for signing up for things for which I think I might get a lot of spam from. I have my email messages to my domain handled by a free mail server and they are downloaded into Outlook 2003 and copy sent to googlemail (the name for gmail in the uk) as a backup and because it offers far superior search speed and options.
I have now been using googlemail for about 6 months now and I have not had a single issue with it. It is fast and reliable. Its search capabilities just blow anything else I have seen out of the water and its labelling systems is quick and intuitive. Would highly recommend anyone to get hold of it. I got my invite from one of the web based services which trades such invitations (can't remember the address off hand but found it through google). Had my account within 2 hours of applying for one.
I used to switch address about each year, but hopefully the frihost one will hold longer. But it didn't cost me any contacts anyway, so no problem... (There are more ways to store your e-mail addresses!)
The good part of switching address is that you start clean of all the spamlists.
| Arnie wrote: |

spamlists. |
I think you have misunderstood the point. The point wasn't with regard to the email addresses I had on in my address book but the email address I was using with that domain. If I change from using frihost then my email addresses that I have created using frihost's subdomain ie for instance say piginpoke@myworld.frihost.net (not a real address) would no longer be available to me and therefore everyone that I have given this email address to would no longer be able to contact me on that address.
Personally I find the spam filters pretty good on all of my accounts therefore I don't feel the need to constantly change however I would find the constantly informing everyone of changes of addresses a real hassle and I would imagine they too would find it rather annoying having to update my details frequently. This is my approach and it suits my needs you clearly have a different approach which suits your needs. Isn't that the beauty of choice.
GMAIL IS THE AWESOMEST SERVICE IN THE WORLD!
Actually google rocks !! They provide all of the best!! Gmail, Google earth, and a photo software i forgot the name!! well , the thing is, the best feature of Gmail is that you can search your mailbox very fast! The download of attachments is the fastes of all and the mailbox space is amazing (1gb!!) !!
I definitely love gmail and google!!
The name of the Photo Software is Picasa.
| comite_bh wrote: |

Gmail does definetly rule and you can check your gmail through Thunderbird and you can get forwarding too.
If you don't yet have a gmail account a great place to go is http://groups.google.com/group/Gmail-Invites. You just have to sign up, press join group, and post a topic asking for an invite!
I am a bit worried about the space provided by gmail. It has stayed under 2700MB so long. I am at 70% usage right now. with the digital photos/videos I emailed my parents and in-laws, it kept multiple copies if I forward/replied the same email. Or so it seems.
I subscribes to only two mailing lists and archive them all. The filter (skip-inbox) works so great that I start to forget that I subscribed to some InfoWorld newsletters as well. The spam filters work great, with a few slipping through every so often. Since porn or p0rn is all over in the subject and body text, I am not sure why gmail fails to catch it. Either it is some flaws in its algorithm, or the spam-filter engines happen to be in maintenance mode (not fail-secure mode! don't think people would appreciate fail-secure mode either).
anyone who wants a gmail account. just pm me privately!
really gmail is the number 1 mail acc
you get 2gb of space and a lot of options
its stupid if you dont know sombody with gmail
really i do everything for an acc
please can give somebody me gmail

You're already using a Gmail account...
I can also send gmail invites, simply PM me here.
You dont need a invite to make a Gmail account anymore there free now!
I've used Yahoo, Hotmail, mail.com, and gmail is by far my favorite fee webmail service. I love their search features (that Yahoo and hotmail are now starting to copy). Also, you get tons of space. The best part is that their spam filters actually WORK. Wonder of wonders. I get less than 5 spam messages in my inbox every week. Currently getting 9000/month in my spam box. For the longest time, I was very ticky about which websites I gave my gmail address to and never got any spam whatsoever for the first 8 months I had the account. Then, one day (against my better judgement), I gave it to chatterbean for some stupid quiz. I knew as soon as I clicked OK that I'd made a bad call. That was 6 months ago. I got my first spam message the next day. Chatterbean then sold it to 5 people, and they sold it to 5 people....and 6 months later I'm getting 9K a month, and it's rising steadily. It's OK, though, because gmail blocks them and I don't have to hassle with the message. Totally unlike yahoo and hotmail.
Someone said that you don't have to have an invitation anymore. Not sure if that's true, but if invitations are still required, I'll be more than happy to send you one. Just PM me.

Gmail is nearly the best email ever!
Well, Gmail has finally opened up the application system, so the invites are no-longer required. If you're interested, to sign up go to http://mail.google.com/mail/signup
For now though, this topic is obsolete I'm afraid.
