A blow to our image? Heck, our image is already blown (thank you liberal news!). If Russia wants to kill the murders of their soldiers in Iraq, let them at them. Perhaps this is like their Pearl Harbor, so to speak, a catalyst to get some action.

In a way it has. I flip to news stations, all I see is "Oh a bombing in Iraq this, bombing in Iraq that." Nothing about the progress of their government, like you see on other stations. I'm not saying a conservative bias is better, I'm saying that we need both sides. We don't need just the terrorism, or just the progress, we need both.

I will completely agree with this statement. I guess I feel we do get that from the media, though. Lots of stuff about road side bombs, beheadings, etc. I don't think that they skip over that stuff. Here's a thought. Do you think when we watch the news, we windup filtering it ourselves. For both liberals and conservatives, they only hear the stuff they dont like and the stuff that supports their opinion slides off. Im probably not being clear, but I'm getting tired.

Anyway, I personally feel its moderately balanced, compared with the news I get from international sources.

If this is how the Russians chose to handle this situation...then I say they should go for it. If they create terror in the terrorists themselves maybe they (the terrorists) will think twice before attacking them again. I'm not a violent person by nature, but this is something the US government should have thought of quite some time ago....sure, we would take a beating in the press....but that's alot better than having our citizens murdered.
