Are you reductionist (examining the parts of something to find out about the whole) or are you holistic (vice versa)? Both of these are very valid ways of thinking, and I wonder which is more popular.

Holistic for me............I mean the interconectedness of all things is such an easier way of thinking Razz , seriously I would imagine most ppl use both and probably more ways of thinking depending on what they are thinking about.

I think I use both in different situations. I try to be holistic when dealing with human issues (I fail alot) and reductionistic when working with equipment. Programming ....maybe a synthesis.

It's hard for me to say, because I use both ... depending on what I want to know exactly. I can't really tell which I use more either. Hrm, interesting question. If I can get a definite answer for you, I'll have to vote, but until then I'm pretty much on the fence.
