Every one knows that when you go through life, you're bound to wind up with a few scrapes at the least. And after a few days, or weeks, you start to heal completly.
But what if it were possible to speed up this time elapse? What if we could regenerate our skin cells to a point of immunity? Obviously this doesn't mean that you can take a bullet and survive. That deals with other organs. But if one could regenerate skin without the flaws of time, one could be very, uh... fit. Maybe not the right word.
So what are your ideas on skin regrowth? Do you think it's possible to regenerate skin cells faster than we are capable of on our owns at this point in time?
I've heard of these ointments that supposedly offer a faster skin process. Its main ingredient includes snail. I guess if you rub snail slime over your body, you may be able to regenerate faster then. So what makes snails so helpful to us? It must be a certain enzyme or nutrient.
What do you think?
Yes, it would be possible to speed up skin regrowth.
The limiting factor is the speed at which molecules can be rearranged into correct location, and the rate at which new matter can be brought in to accomplish this rearranging.
Any topical that we invent to do this will only make moderate gains in speed of healing, it will take massive technological achievements before we can make measurable gains in the immune response of our bodies, namely, nanotechnology.
Especially for burn victims, this kind of technology could be a huge boon to helping people recover!
ointments cannot provide immunity to all sorts of skin disorders. But its a good idea. Sun-block prevents skin cancer by blocking UV radiation. Skin moisturizer prevents skin cracking and peeling by rehydrating the skin. If you had a one in all solution it could prevent most skin disorders.
not skin disorders, Lennon. Just regrowing the skin cells.
It's widely known that cancer is a form of an overgrowth of cells. The end triplet of the DNA doesn't have its 'stop' instructions. Bare with me, its been a while since biology. So do you think the answer to growing more skin cells lies within the DNA?
Maybe if we talked about what made skins cells grow in the first place...
Good nutrition is essential to the production of cells, right? And sleep is integral in the processes of renewing the body.
Could the onset of more sun be acredited to the skin cell growth process? or just the melonen?
My dad is always harping on me about how I don't get enough sleep, and how dangerous it is for your body. Apparently your skin is no the only cells that replenish; every cell in your body is replaced every 6 to 7 years. When your body doesn't regenerate fast enough, from lack of sleep amongst other things, then overgrowth of cells can occur. Scientists are begining to theorize that this may be the cause of many kinds of cancers. So your theory about sleep may not be that far off at all.
Hey Buddies, your epidermis is showing.
Are you talking about ointments like Neosporin? The ointments that speed up the regeneration process? Immortal hardly, but if regeneration of skin (and eventually other organs) happens at a rate quicker than it does now, we can certainly take on considerably more damage.
there are ointments out there that do speed up but not at the rate to help people with burns.
Someone will come up with a machine that helps people regen skin fast, people have already come up with the minority report technology (screens)
science is really speeding along these days, my be our undoing, but hey who cares at the moment
I would be a great success if this evolution would become real.
This treatment would be a great help for everyone who need a quick skin reintegration. Just like burned persons, people in an accident,...
As someone has told about nanotechnology, that would be a good idea because you can program the nanobots for that specific task.
Even for damage repair in the brains and the other organs would this level of medic science a great success if it would work.
