Custom Error Pages

satheesh
Hi,

I have come across a minor problem with my website. The problem, I have explained below.

I have created custom error pages for the 403 - Forbidden access, 404 - Page not found, 500 - Internal server error etc.

I have included images in these custom error pages. The problem that i am facing is that these images are not being displayed except in one of these custom error pages.

Please be aware of the following things :
1) I have given the path correctly to these images from the pages.

2) I have given the proper rights to these images accessed from the page.

3) The size of these pages are greater than 512 bytes, whic is required for these pages to be displayed instead of the "Default error pages".

FYI :
The address of my website is www.adarshalumni.frih.net.

Could anyone of you please check and help me out.

Thanks and regards,
Satheesh

404 page works fine.
Can't check the others:
Don't know address of file that will give me a 403 error.
Internal server error is hard to get Wink

Things should work, if you really did what you said you did!

You should specify the absolute URL to your images (http://www.adarshalumni.frih.net/404.gif), not the relative (404.gif).

If this page is loaded:
http://www.adarshalumni.frih.net/error
The relative url will point to:
http://www.adarshalumni.frih.net/404.gif
as expected.

If this page is loaded:
http://www.adarshalumni.frih.net/error/error
The relative url will point to:
http://www.adarshalumni.frih.net/error/404.gif
Which doesn't exist!

Hi,

First of all, thanks for the replies.

As Deedee had mentioned I have done everything but it just isnt giving me the results. As he asked "403 error" can be got by going to a page that you cant or dont have access to. This can be achieved by something like going to a folder wherein a particular page is there.

As Stubru Freak mentioned, let me try out mentioning the absolute path of the custom error pages instead of the relative ones. Hope it works, if it does then I will update it here. Thanks a lot for the help given.

Regards,
Satheesh
