A friend has been insisting (a lot) to me that I should use RSS for my site, but I just have no idea about it (except that WordPress is based on it, I believe)
what's so special about RSS?
RSS is a way for people to be updated with your site. Honestly, I didn't see it as that important until I started using it for myself.
I keep up with a ton of blogs so if I had to click through each one in my bookmarks, it would take a long time. With the RSS feed, I can do a very quick run-through of all the site's recent entries and see if there's a new one. If there is, I can just click and go to the site to read it.
Some people don't even go to the site. They just use feed readers and catch up from there.
You should seriously make RSS a priority if you want to build a larger audience for your site.
