"Oaks of Righteousness"

“They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor."

Isaiah 61:3b

I think we can learn a few things from trees. When trees are young (saplings) they can be bent or twisted fairly easily. If something causes a young tree to begin growing out of balance, it is possible to straighten while it is young. We often see newly planted trees tied to stakes or support rods to encourage growth in the proper directions. Such efforts to a full sized tree would be difficult since the trunk has grown larger, the root system has developed, and the tree has strengthened and become harder.

If you were a tree what shape would you be? Tall? Straight? What areas are weak or rotting, or crooked? Could a little supportive correction help? Don't wait, the "tree" only grows more stiff and more out of balance. Do you have opportunity to help provide supportive directions for someone else? Who were / are the stakes in your life? How are you doing that for others?

some trees will only grow straight or even grow on certain places.. so if you try to plant a tree on wrong weather and geographicaly unfriendly locations.. then ofcourse no matter how much you try to straighten up that tree.. there is no use at all.. so when talking about straightening up a tree look if it is in the right place at the first point, if not don't waste your time and evergy by trying to straighten up that tree. and for your knowledge not all trees can be twisted or bended when they are a small plant..

I have your points, but I think you've missed his.

It makes sense, sort of. As people are young, they are much more impressionable and much more receptive to the environment around them. Depending on these outside influences, the young person will "bend and twist" certain ways.

As people get older, they are less and less receptive, less and less impressionable. They are more set in their ways and rigid... Just as a mighty oak, an oak that doesn't give much in any way but the way it's already going.

I see what you're saying.
