Well i was wondering what you thought, and if you had ever heard of the laptop...oh and no cd burner/reader Evil or Very Mad
psycosquirrel
I could not find it on the dell site, the closest thing was the dell D410, which costs $1000 USD anyways. Just find someone that has a coupon and buy one instead of paying the school for it and not keeping it Rolling Eyes

The specs given are too broad for that laptop, you can't tell if it will be low end or high end; the difference between things like 512mb ram and 1.5gb ram or a 24x cd rom and an 8x DVD R+-W combo drive is just too big.

I say the school is probably a greedy private school trying to rip you off. It is easy to get a laptop for $200 or less that will do fine for only schoolwork...
