how about updating the site theme to something a little more professional, honestly the appearence of this site really turned me off from signing up.

Please consider that we are just starting this free hosting.
Do you mean the forum or the home page?
If you mean the forum, then yes, it will certainly be changed. The server was ready a bit earlier than I thought and I had no time to design it. And then I became ill and some other personal stuff, so I hadn't much time to design this forum. I also had to install a few mods that only work with the default theme. I didn't have the time yet to make a menu on this forum, but expect it to be added in a few days/a week.
I spent a lot of time designing the main page. I hope you like it. If you mean the google ads, they are there for revenue and won't be deleted. Do you like the logo?
I know design is important, but I am not good at designing a website. But you aren't coming to this forum for the design I suppose. You are here for the webhosting and that should be most important thing to judge.
Can you maybe tell me what bothers you or what could be improved? It would really make it much easier for me, because I might like some specific design/color, while most people hate it.

well, yes, i am here for the hosting, but you really must understand that a lot of people judge 'the book by the cover' i think the banner could use a bit of work. Perhaps when this site gets a litte more popular, you can offer a logo/site design contest to win a domain name or something like that. i've seen countless sites do this.

A very good idea for a contest. But first the site has to be much more popular as you say.
Do you think I should put a computer or some internet-based thingy in the logo? And what about the colors? I thought gray was always good? Or should I put more blue into it?
i'm not sure how the design should be like, perhaps a more professional font and logo image would be a good start. anyone else have any suggestions?

yeah, i personally don't like the flashy layouts with flash and 100kb of graphics either, but there are some real nice layout that can be achieved with merely html and good css.

I think it is not a bad home page theme. But look how it is rendered on my FF brouser....
I run it on a Linux machine.
The "Directory" link is totally out of place...

I think that bug only occurs on Linux FF.
Yeah , we do need a new and nice skin .
Read the damn announcements all of you. There's going to be a new design some time this year that will be applied to both the forums and main website
