Well, the world cup has been on for about 5 days now. There has been really boring matches and some really exciting ones.
If anyone of you has watched the Austrlia vs Japan match, you would have known the fact that the 2 substitutes that Guus Hiddink put on the field did a tremendous job of scoring vital goals that propelled Australia to their first ever world cup victory.
The question is: Do you think that was a tactical masterstroke by Guus Hiddink or is it just pure luck?
lol...luck.
I reckon Australia won that match because of their attitude after japan's 'goal', and because they were playing a very below-par team. But we'll see how well Australia do in their remaining matches...
He is not a genius but he is a very hard worker and he is talented.
yes! australia vs Japan game was really fun and Guus did a very nice job.
for soccer games you need luck and talent...
I don't think it's a pure luck or midas' touch. But i'm pretty sure he does know how to play the game. He has talents as well as passion to win the game. He's genius in the sense that he knows how to play the media too.
Definitely genius. Otherwise - why we invite him to lead our national team(Russia) after WC?

You're getting quality after the World Cup.
If he can get us to the knock-out stages, I'd say genius. He's helped the world game out in Australia become known for something other than ethnic riots and financial problems.
Yeah yeah, lets see how the Aussies play against mighty brazil. Let's see what kinda magic the golden Guus is going to whip out this time. Wow, I just can't wait to see what happens next. Cheers!
it is just LUCK
NOT MORE THAN LUCK

Hiddink knows his job very well, but Gineus ... It is luck, but he can create luck. He can increase the luck because his knowledge.
Well I don't know if he genious, but I do know that he is a great coach.
bring South Korea (last world cup) to the semi final, and bring Australlia to the world cup and win the first game.
I hope that Australia and Hiddink will keep their game and will play good all the tournament.
In Guus We Trust!
Tonite / tomorrow morning's game is going to be watched by a nation and we are going to win (Australia). You should have seen the front page of The Age newspaper this morning: completely paying out Brazil as a country not as a team.

I agree to disagree with your view. Guus Hiddink is one of the best coaches around the world today. We should not look only at Australia, it was first South Korea that he helped shape up and they reach the Semi-final in the previous world cup. And Austrlia is lucky to have him coach them. Australia was impressive and may shock even Brazil... anything can happen!
