Ricky Williams cleared to play in the CFL

Darren
Yes, it's true. While on suspension for drug infractions Ricky Williams has come North to play for the Toronto Argonauts. People are generally annoyed here that the Canadian Football League wouldn't honor the NFL suspension. No doubt he'll be a force but come on!

Comments anyone?

Does the CFL really use the rb? I thought most teams just toss the ball 60-80 times a game.
Darren
Passing is definitely a bigger part of our game than the NFL. That's because we only have three downs. But someone with Ricky Williams' credentials will no doubt see the ball often.

It's great- three downs, bigger feild and NO FAIR CATCHES.

Is the CFL shown in the US at all?
Darren
Maybe somewhere on satelite. Not on the networks that I know of. It would be huge news to us if it were.

Wel, he's definitely not dominating as many thought he would. Williams' averaging 4.3 yards a carry. 26 carries for 11 yards in two games. Maybe they're tougher up here than he thought.

Also who knows how good the offensive line that he's running against? The line is probally better at pass protection.
Darren
That's a good point that I haven't considered. Up here the RB gets all the credit for a good running team. The O line gets little or no attention. Maybe there's a reason for that. Good call!

Canada and the CFL is the perfect place for Ricky Williams. It is a marriage made in heaven.
Darren
I don't know what you mean there Svarn. Anyway, I hear RW's out with a broken arm. Poor guy.

WHAT?? Is marijuana legal in Canada?
Seriously though, Ricky Williams is a flake. I remember when he was here in New Orleans. He did OK at best. But nothing like all the hype that came with him. And giving up the entire 99 draft for him was just plain stupid! But that was bozo Mike Ditka- another Flake.
The stupidity of the deal was never more apparent than when Ricky injured himself on the second play of the first preseason game. He was out almost half the season. Heck, he was injured 4 different times during his rookie year and sat out half the next season with an injury!
Saban and the Miami Dolphins tried to give him another shot and look how he thanked them:
"No thanks, I'd rather stay stoned".
It's hard for me to feel sorry for someone like that.

He is able to combine his recreational and professional activities easier in Canada than in the USA! While not legal, he won't get into as much trouble in Canada for loving the things he loves!

I see, fair enough. As mentioned it's not quite legal here. They call it 'decriminalized'. This means you'll get a ticket (like speeding) instead of time. Not sure if that has gone all the way through though.
