Counter-strike
Counter-strike is a great game to play during the summer/winter seasons. Even through the graphics arn't the best its easy to make a map and build your own worlds/enviroments. Several clans exist adding excitment to the game. The game prices around $10-20 and is worth every penny according to most.
Some of the clans like the -=CPU=- Clan for example http://www.clancpu.tk/ host custom maps for others and rank them on popularity.
A few popular map makers would be Nipper and squall maps.
The counter-strike speech system is terrible but most people use programs like ventrilo and teamspeak to make up for this.
