I came across this article about Firefox and its very strong adherants. A Borg-like summary of a very crafty and successful strategy. Microsoft is actually taking Mozilla seriously, it knows what it did to IBM, in the old days, and even though history never actually repeats, itself, turnabout is fair play.

The one and only thing that I remember about computers... and yes I can remember xywrite, kaypro, and portables by Compaq that used to weigh twenty pounds, is that it grew without any caution. That's the computers one and only tradition. It startles the stalwart. It had a way of making inroads without anyone knowing. Perhaps that's the computer/internets greatest secret.
