other combinations?

I am designing a software that should be web based and I want to choose a language that is object oriented and having large number of readymade code.

I want a database which can handle more than 100 transactions per minute and possesing some 50TB of data.

I dont think PHP mySql is a good combination but what else I can use?

The application basically is about stock market analysis using AI an neural networks. How do I go about it?

PHP isn't really object oriented.

Basically you'll either want ASP with C++/# and SQL Server (since they usually bundle together and are supported with the dev tools) or use serverside Java. Your choice of DBMS is then pretty much whatever you want, postgre is often used for when you want a mysql type system but wth a bit of enforced strictness.
