Cubase - using your keyboard as the keyboard

borud
I've recently gotten my hands on Cubase SX. I once saw someone use their computer keyboard as a tangent keyboard and wondered how I could do this.

The one I saw were on mac, so I'm not sure if this is possibe on the windows version..

Can anyone help me with this? Rolling Eyes

What I mean is. Take a C-major scale for example:

One octave is the letters a,s,d,f,g,h,j,k on your computer-keyboard.
And the black tangents probably are the keys over.
Do you understand now?

Just wonderin. How do u use cubase. Does it have sounds in the program which you can just work from (as u do in FruityLoops) or do you have to import music and sounds and composite them together to make compostion?

I'm not so much catching onto what you're trying to ask. "Using your keyboard as a keyboard ?"

I do know that they have different types of keyboards to help you prevent carpal tunnel syndrome, such as this one --

The only thing that comes to mind is to use your computer keyboard as a music keyboard ? I think they sell ones that plug into the MIDI port on your PC (that plug is commonly used for game controllers).
