Connect to database that is a not localhost

Talk2Tom11
Hey... I want to connect to one of my databases from my frihost account but from a different location.

I am creating a program that will access the database.

Now normally when setting up everything to connect you would say the server is 'localhost'.

But for my case what do i call the server... my website is www.dodsoncorp.frih.net.

Do i use... http://www.dodsoncorp.frih.net/myphpadmin as the server name?

???

I don't know if frihost let's you accept external connections. Maybe not :'(.

But you don't have to put the mysqladmin adress, you must to put your domain adress and the correct port number.

thanx...

Is there anyway to get my frihost account to let me to except external users to access my database?

If the server the program is residing on has a fixed IP, then in frihost you could type someuser_database@<IP Address>, which means only you could access this database.

MySQL server would be www.dodsoncorp.frih.net I think.
Not www.dodsoncorp.frih.net/phpMyAdmin, as that's just a collection of php scripts for accessing the database.

To let frihost know to accept external database connections, go to:
http://frih.net:2222/
Click MySQL Management
Click your database name
On that page you can add an access host. Just add the host of the EXTERNAL script there.
(And leave localhost, or you can't use phpMyAdmin anymore.)

Intresting.
Is it possible to make an script that adds automaticatly an given host as acces host ?
I have an small apache host at home for testing prupose and I like to have the ability to connect to my frihost databases without manually enter my dynamic ip every time I want to do it.

Note: If i'm not wrong there are ony 10 types of people in this word, not 11.

I don't know about the script, but you're wrong. Not reading small letters can get you in serious trouble when signing contracts so you'd better be careful.
