I got a bit bored and started to Google a lot of different things on interesting things that I could find, and this came up.
"What's the answer to life, the universe, and everything ?"
Google tells me that the answer is simply :
42

yea from a hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy...
The world makes so much sense now.
yep
42 also happens to be a perfect usamo paper, for those who know what im talking about
ever since I started going to GameFAQs.com, I haven't had a single day without the number 42 in my life.
also, there's LUElinks.net (Life, Universe and Everything links). Now, you can't go to the real Luelinks.net since it's private... the main site is just a fake thing to avoid teachers to discover students from seeing the real content.
ahh damn you 42.
Ok I really need to read that book!
OMG.
Six by nine of fifty-four.
Go away stupid fool.
OMG i hated that movie more than i hated napoleon dynomite, i would rather let myself be hooked up to an elctrode than watch it again
In trying to find the ultimate answer you must first define the ultimate question
Nah dude, the answer is yes.
Haha. I find that funny ............. COol.
According to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, researchers from a pan-dimensional, hyper-intelligent race of beings constructed the second greatest computer in all of time and space, Deep Thought, to calculate the Ultimate Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything. After seven and a half million years of pondering the question, Deep Thought provides the answer: "forty-two." The reaction?
"Forty-two!" yelled Loonquawl. "Is that all you've got to show for seven and a half million years' work?"
"I checked it very thoroughly," said the computer, "and that quite definitely is the answer. I think the problem, to be quite honest with you, is that you've never actually known what the question is."
Cool eh ?
whplace
The movies sucked, the books are awsoooome.
42 leads my life now.
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy eh?

More about calculator.

The hilarious thing is that the answer came from the google calculator.
I didn't know google had a direct link to deep thought!
My God! 42 is the universe, 4 add 2 is 6. 6 divided by 2 is 3. 3 times 6 is 666. 06/06/06 is the devil's birthday, which means the end of the world! I knew the whole 06/06/06 thing was nothing but nonsence...
There can only be a valid answer to a question, if there’s a valid question. Otherwise, one just has responses. The following is not a valid question:

But it’s fun anyway. And I see you all having fun here, which is good.
Let’s just remember that sometimes so-called deep thoughts are the pits and should stay in the pits.

I was refering to the computer 'deep thought' if you havn't read at least the first hitchiker's guide book, you shouldn't intrude so on such a topic.

Of course, but possibly you would care to study deeper what the first post has to offer.
Starting with izcool’s first url will easily get one to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minor_characters_from_The_Hitchhiker%27s_Guide_to_the_Galaxy#Deep_Thought, which includes:

Notice that what I blued is similar to what I had said, which you are apparently claiming is out of context, but I don’t believe is.
Also, ocalhoun, here’s a friendly suggestion: If you want to only talk about the computer named Deep Thought, then you might want to capitalize it, since that’s what people do to names. As for me, I enjoy the deeper, multiple, simultaneous contexts where the term refers to the computer plus the lower case meanings. And, frankly, I think that’s what the author Douglas Adams intended too.

Everyone knows it's 42, of course. =]
Doug Adams is always right.
Although I think it's that there is no one answer to life, the universe and everything. You make your own answer.
My answer?
"Love."
I'm a corny mother ******, sue me.
Sadly, i'm also not kidding.

I thought you had taken this out of context.
I'm just curious now, have you read the books?
42............. Its all so clear now

I read a few of them, then stopped, skimming only parts of others. My focus turned elsewhere. But every so often I will run across a concept or quote and think, h2g2!

One of Adam’s main tricks of writing is to create strange context switches and parallels that make one really wonder. He can change context so often it makes one dizzy!
Discussing The Answer to Life, the Universe, and Everything, while being required to stay in the micro context of “42” is going to get boring (to me) after about 2 seconds. How many times can people say “42” and keep the discussion interesting? While I sincerely do find studying fads and cults fascinating at times, it can also be disappointing to be discussing Deep Thought when no actual deep thoughts are allowed. But I notice that our thread instigator did not indicate we should only stay at the micro-context level -- so I’m glad he was “bored” that day
-- however I am sorry if you think not staying there is an “intrusion”.
I have a very strong appreciation for science fiction, comedy, and even the way that fans can turn something like h2g2 into a cult. I also love, maybe more so, how authors make fun of their own unwitting audiences. Sometimes Douglas Adams reminds me of L. Ron Hubbard, who even got a real religion out of his deal.
Anyway, Happy 42-ing everybody! If you have any 42 sightings, be sure to report them to http://www.digitalthoughtsw.com/DTS/42/.
Hey, 42-ing is fun.
But, i'd much rather 420. ;]
Hmm, it looks like that the book is a bit popular in this forum.
I have to admit - I never read the book. I looked up "I, Robot" (movie) in Wikipedia and came across a link going to other articles related and found this, the answer for everything. I looked it up on Google and seen that Google's calculator gave the answer of "42". That's all that I created this thread about, was to show that Google knows.
If the discussion is interesting enough, then it shall continue. If not, then possibly close the thread. It's up to the moderators reading on what their final decision will be.
